The mothers of two British paramedics widely criticized online for making TikTok videos in an ambulance have hit back at their "stupid" critics.
Rhianna Higgins, 25, and a crewmate went viral earlier this month after recording a video of themselves dancing to Justin Bieber's baby in the back of an ambulance and posting it to TikTok, per The Sun.
The pair were soon slammed by a barrage of abusive comments, despite stating in the video's caption that they were simply having fun on a break from England's Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
Now, Rhianna's mother has hit back at those criticizing her daughter, telling The Sun: "It is stupid the dramas this has caused.
"It has been blown out of all proportion."

She said: "She was on her break. She does 14, 16-hour shifts, saving a lot of lives."
Her stepfather agreed, saying: "They can't get ambulance drivers. The pay is not great and they do an amazing job."
A former neighbor of another paramedic in one of the TikToks said: "She absolutely loves her job and would be absolutely devastated if this bit of fun leads to any trouble."
Critics of the pair claimed that they should have been working, despite their clarification that they were on a break.
One wrote: "Should be saving life's but making TikTok is the priority [sic]."

A second added: "Omg you are [meant] to be at work lol."

A third wrote: "Not professional. Do this on your own time out of uniform. You are on the firm's time in uniform no ifs buts or maybes [sic]."

Thankfully, it wasn't just the women's parents who jumped to their defense, so too did many viewers of the dance on TikTok.
One wrote: "Imagine all of the things they see on shift.. they are entitled to a break and if this is something that keeps them going then go for it."

A second added: "Seriously! let them have a break and enjoy they deserve every second of it! it's their break and they can spend it how they want [sic]."

A Yorkshire Ambulance spokesperson has also responded to the backlash the video has received, per The Sun.
They said: "We are aware of the video which was filmed during a rest break.
"We are taking the opportunity to remind colleagues about acting professionally at all times when representing the Trust.
"We remain very proud of the amazing job our staff do to care for patients, often in challenging circumstances."
