A woman has revealed that she underwent toe-shortening surgery after spending years feeling insecure about her feet.

You've heard of Brazilian butt lifts and tummy tucks, but did you know you could have cosmetic surgery to shorten your toes? A content creator known as Athena - who goes by @goddessatheenaa on TikTok - shared her cosmetic journey with her followers.

In a video posted last month, the brunette revealed that she successfully underwent the operation after years of struggling with the appearance of her long crooked toes.

"My toes were a big insecurity for me for as I could remember, so I decided to gift myself this Christmas a new set of toes," she explained in her post. "I'm so happy with the results. Best decision I could have taken. If you have struggled with your feet before, you know the feeling."

"Santa baby, all I want is new toes this Xmas," she captioned another video.

She enlisted the help of Dr. Abraham Wagner at Jaws Podiatry in Hollywood, Florida, to perform the cosmetic procedure and he shared before and after pictures of her surgery.

Check out the video below:

According to Jaws Podiatry, a toe shortening surgery is a "minimally invasive" process in which the longest toe is compressed so that it "doesn't protrude beyond" the big toe.

Athena had her second, third, and fourth toes snipped during the surgery which took about an hour and a half. She was awake throughout it and was given a local anesthetic while the incisions were made between and underneath her toes.

On December 6, the TikToker shared a follow-up video showing how her feet looked like three weeks after the mind-blowing operation.

Athena clarified that her feet were still swollen but that she is overjoyed by the results.

And after her first post amassed over 1.1 million views, TikTok users have been quick to share their thoughts on the procedure.  Despite receiving some mean comments, many other users defended  Athena's choice, with some TikTokers sharing that they also share the same body insecurity as her.

One person wrote: "This can be done?! I’ve spent my whole life getting picked on for my 'tingers'" (toe-fingers).

A third remarked: "Ouch! I hope they didn’t hurt too much! Hope they heal [beautifully!]"

Athena posted another video during her procedure where she said: "Fifteen minutes into surgery and so far, no pain," before adding, "I feel slight pressure, like a little tingling, but that's about it. I'm actually kind of sleepy, so I may fall asleep."

The clip then cut to her feet wrapped and placed in post-op surgical shoes with an overlay text that read: "I walked home after surgery! I was sent home on pain meds, antibiotics, and a care package with everything I needed for my recovery."

Athena then noted to her followers that the discomfort was "not too bad" and compared it to getting a boob job, saying she felt "pressure and tension" in her toes.
