A TikToker has raised over $100,000 so an 82-year-old Walmart employee can retire, proving that kindness well and truly exists.

Last month, Devan Bonagura, 19, raised over $186,000 for an 81-year-old Walmart employee Nola Carpenter so she could pay off her mortgage and be able to retire.

On November 3, Devan took to TikTok where he uploaded a video of Nola sitting in the Walmart breakroom with the caption: "Life shouldn't be this hard."

The video clearly struck a chord with viewers, as a GoFundMe page quickly gathered thousands of donations, amounting to well over the amount Nora needed to pay off her mortgage.

It would appear as if this video set off a bit of a trend - as another elderly Walmart worker has been blessed with the same treatment.

Watch the latest act of kindness below:

Rory McCarty posted a video on TikTok on December 17 of 82-year-old Butch working behind the cash register at his local Walmart.

At the time of writing, the video has been viewed 2.5 million times and has received 229,000 likes... which goes to show the power of the internet.

In the video, McCarty points out to Butch that other elderly Walmart employees have gone viral and received large donations and he finishes the video by saying: "We ought to do that for Butch. Who would donate?"

In typical TikTok fashion, the comment section was flooded with good samaritans stating that they would give a donation so that Butch could retire.

McCarty set up a GoFundMe page for Butch on December 19, and two days later at the time of writing - it has raised over $110,000 - a whopping $10K over the $100,000 target.

In a follow-up video, Butch revealed that he had been working since he was 11 years old and had spent 10 years in the Navy. He also stated that he would use the money to spend his "last 10 or 12 years" with his kids in Florida.

People in the comments gave their best wishes to Butch, with one person saying: "It is our job as a society to take care for our elders," and a second added: "This man should not have to be working at all! Our veterans come last in this country these days. God bless him and you."

Butch did specify he would work his two weeks' notice - but then we wish him all the best in his deserved retirement!
