It's often said that you should make a wish at 11:11 at night, but one day which could be luckier than most (in my humble opinion) is today!
Why? Because it's the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century.
Now, given how difficult the past year has been for the world as a whole, I for one think this is something to celebrate. We made it to this gloriously perfect date!
After all, if you went back in time to the not-so-distant past, you'd have a lot of people telling you that we humans simply wouldn't make it this long.
There were the Mayans, for example, who were convinced that the end was about to be nigh in 2012 and then there were those of us who simply thought 2020 had to have total apocalypse in-store as well (that or an alien invasion).
However, it is worth noting that there's a bit of a debate going on as to whether or not this actually is today's date, as some people argue that the new millennium didn't start until January 1, 2001.
Needless to say, people have been taking to social media to point out what day it is.
This Twitter user wrote: "Guys, today is the 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century. This won't happen again until January 22, 2122."
So, why is there debate around when the new millennium started? After all, surely in the age of iPads and 3D printing, we'd be past this? Well, it comes down to personal opinion about whether or not there was a year zero.
If there was, 2,000 years would have passed at the end of 1999, making New Year's Day 2000 the start of the new millenium.
However, a lot of people, including historians and calendar experts, believe that there is no year zero, meaning that, for them, at least, this perfect date is one to be celebrated in the future. One even put forward their detailed reasoning in this Time and Date article.
As for the rest of us, happy 21st day of the 21st year of the 21st century - make a wish!
