Social media users have been left divided over an angry passenger's "petty" revenge on Delta after a flight delay.

There's nothing more frustrating than packing your suitcase and traveling to an airport just to get informed that your flight to your planned destination has been delayed or canceled.

And it's even more infuriating when staff tell you that they cannot offer compensation due to the situation being out of their hands.

That's what TikTok user Kyle Philippi, who goes by the handle @kylephilippi, and his friend recently experienced with Delta.

The pair were left outraged by the airline so they decided to seek revenge by abusing the perks of the SkyClub lounge.

"POV: Delta doesn’t compensate for thousands of dollars lost from delaying our flights for days so we gonna get it back in the Sky Club,” Philippi wrote in the caption. “This will set them back.”

Watch the video below:

The clip showed the duo filling themselves with free food and pouring their complimentary wine into the garbage.

It also showed them stealing magazines, squeezing out hand sanitizer in excess, letting the showers run, and emptying the shampoo and conditioner bottles.

While it's unclear which flights the content creator was referring to, the delay was most likely related to last week's Microsoft outage.

The majority of users in the comments section praised the pair for their acts of revenge. "The pouring of the wine and letting the water run/wasting shampoo is petty to the 100000e level and I’m here for it lol," one user said.

"The epitome of not all heroes wear capes. Go get 'em boys!" a second chimed in. A third said: "I don't like to throw around the word 'Hero', but this situation calls for it. Thank you for your service."

A fourth quipped: "@delta you need to give these guys free trips for the next 5 years. They have me thinking I need to switch to Delta and get sky club."

However, some were unimpressed and voiced their criticism in the comment section.

"This is completely stupid. Next, there will be no lounges because of morons such as yourselves," someone blasted at them.

A second person said that they found the revenge "odd" adding: "I find this to be childish. Delta should ban them."

"Childish, you should be ashamed. Major a** wipe. Stay home," a disappointed user interjected. "Eating complementary food or using supplements Ok- but wasting it, why?" another questioned.

Philippi revealed to Daily Mail that he was part of a group traveling to Quito, Ecuador, for a week to serve children in poor neighborhoods.

He disclosed that he was angry by the delay and lack of refunds because "We already paid for groceries, transportation, lodging, inflatables for the kids.

"When our flight was canceled all these things got paid for and [wasted] because we couldn’t fly out for days," he added.

The Department of Transportation has now launched an investigation into the airline over the global outage. They are also probing whether Delta's treatment of stranded and delayed flyers violated federal law.
