A video has gone viral on social media this week, which shows an irate passenger slapping an air hostess in the face, after getting into a foul-mouthed dispute with her, allegedly over his elbow room.

According to a report by British tabloid newspaper The Daily Mail, the incident is believed to have taken place onboard a Brussels Airline flight on Friday.

The heated altercation was allegedly triggered by a male passenger wanting to report to the cabin crew that the two people his mother had been sitting next to were elbowing her.

The passenger’s wife filmed the chaotic scene, claiming that a male flight attendant punched her spouse first, and two other flight attendants approached the man to try (in vain) to calm him down.

The passenger can be heard to shout: "You don't put your goddamn hands on me! Motherf****r!" he yells back. "I will beat the sh*t out of you! ... The f**k you want? What you ask b***h?"

Despite initially wearing a face mask, the man pulled it down during his tirade and allegedly sprayed spit at some of the people he was yelling at.

A female cabin crew supervisor can then be heard to tell the passenger: "Now you listen, and you calm down. You will go with [the] police ... Listen, we heard you already, now you're finished. If you don't finish, you will get in trouble."

The female flight attendant then appears to strike the man, who responds by slapping the crew member in the face. The video then ends.

Per TooFab, the original poster of the video claims that the passenger was dragged off the plane and off the plane by police, and sustained broken ribs as a result.

Writing on Facebook, Carmen Moore, who shared the video to Facebook on Friday, wrote alongside the clip:

"This happened on a Brussels airline flight this morning. A black man, his wife and family were traveling back from a vacation. The man is complaining about TWO men who were sitting on the sides of his Mother-in-law and elbowing her as she was sitting in the middle seat."

Moore continued:

"The man complained to the supervisor and was told they didn’t have to help him. The female Supervisor proceeded to defend the men who were elbowing the woman when the man said something to the supervisor. She slapped him. The men who jumped on him broke his ribs and the police drug him down the plane's steel stairs despite the man asking for medical attention prior."

Miss Moore's claims are still to be verified by authorities and the airline.
