A woman has shared a video showing the moment she used her pet dog to scare a random cat out of her Christmas tree... except it wasn't a cat.
Aubrey Iacobelli took to Facebook to share the footage on December 10, where it has amassed over 3,600 shares on the social media site.
Recording the incident on her cell phone and home surveillance cameras, the Florida native can be seen coming downstairs at 4:15AM after hearing noises coming from her living room.
Iacobelli then says: "Guys there's a cat inside my Christmas tree! It's 4 in the morning... I hear a scuffle, in through the doggy door, I don't know how the heck this just happened."
Watch the chaos unfold in the video below:The video then shows Aubrey's dog staring intently at her Christmas tree, with the "cat" barely visible among the branches.
All the while, a tentative Aubrey tries to poke at the tree using her frying pan, and grey fur can be seen through the pines.
"Get! Out of my tree! I swear if you knocked over any of my glass ornaments, cat..." she shouts.
In an attempt to speed up the removal, Aubrey then takes aim with a spray bottle filled with vinegar - but the stubborn creature remains put.
She can then be heard whispering to herself: "Is it a cat? Oh no it's not a cat... what is that?
"Is that a squirrel? What in the heck is that thing?"
Once again calling on her dog, Aubrey says: "I gave you a chance, animal" - which is when she realizes that the creature wasn't a cat, but something else entirely.
"Oh... it's a raccoon. F**k this is bad," she says.
Then, in a scene straight out of a Hallmark Christmas movie, chaos ensues - as Aubrey's dog pulls down the tree, causing both Aubrey and the raccoon to squeal.
Then, tangled in Christmas lights, the raccoon gets into a brawl with the dog! (Aubrey later confirmed on her Facebook page that both animals were fine.)
The footage then shows Aubrey jumping around on furniture in an attempt to flee the furry fight, as screams, howls, and smashing glass can be heard in the background.
To make matters worse (or even more comical), the raccoon then leaps onto the chandelier, where it remains for the next hour.
Sharing another update from her trashed living room, Aubrey says: "Five in the morning...
"These are all the ornaments that made it... there's my beautiful tree... there's the raccoon... there's the dog."
Fortunately, fifteen minutes later, Aubrey manages to swat the raccoon down from the light fixture before finally chasing it out of the house.
"And that was my Thursday morning!" she concludes. "Now that it's not right there in that moment, it does seem kind of funny. It's probably going to get funnier the further away from it I get... I hope you got a laugh!"
