People are calling for "barking at men" to be normalized after a woman literally used to technique to ward off some creeps catcalling her in the street.
Now, I'm sure we can all agree that catcalling is one of the most ridiculous things some people insist on doing when they see somebody they're attracted to in the street.
I literally have no idea what the catcaller expects to happen. I am yet to hear of a successful relationship that all bloomed from a guy persistantly shouting unwanted pick-up lines from across the street.
Nevertheless, catcalling is still happening and there doesn't seem to be a way of shutting it down... until now.
TikTok user Lauren Bachman - who uses the handle @whatsupimjared - has recently amassed over 1.5 million views on a video that she captioned: "how to properly deal with men".
In the video, Lauren can be seen walking down the street, minding her own business and talking about her outfit and hair. Then outta nowhere - boom - catcalling.
Men off-camera can then be heard shouting at Lauren, and, at first, she greets them back with a friendly "hello".
However, when one of the guys goes on to describe her as "so fine", a visibly fed up Lauren sneers at the camera, before turning back and literally barking in the direction of the guys.
Their reaction isn't caught on camera, but viewers can hear one of them say "damn".
Unsurprisingly, the video proved very popular on TikTok, with many other women not only praising Lauren's technique - but also vowing to use it themselves.

One TikToker wrote: "That was a great response. I will be using that."
"Normalize barking at men," a second commented.
And amazingly, this does indeed appear to be a technique that some women are embracing, with one woman taking to Twitter to reveal how she successfully shut down some catcallers by barking at them. Check it out below:
"I don't know if that girl was joking about barking at men, but it works. Highly recommend," the woman says in the video.
Additionally, as you can see from the tweets below, the "barking at catcallers" trend is certainly something that is catching on:
To everybody: Stop catcalling.
