Wine hangovers are the worst and can leave you bedbound for an entire day - if not longer.
But this summer, you could be able to indulge in some vino without fearing the dreaded consequences thanks to what's known as a 'wine wand'.
For some people, even the most modest amount of wine can make you ill, and that's apparently because of the toxins in the drink, which the wine wand claims to remove.

The wine wand's product description on Amazon reads: "NO MORE WINE HEADACHES - Only PureWine alleviates ALL of the most common side effects from drinking wine: Headaches, Congestion, Skin Flush, Hangovers and Upset Stomach.
"REMOVES HISTAMINES AND SULFITES, THE PUREWINE ADVANTAGE - No other wine filter removes BOTH the histamines and sulfite preservatives that trigger the most common wine sensitivities. The Wand works on ALL red, white and sparkling wines WITHOUT changing the natural taste, aromas, or color of the wine."
The description adds that the wine wand is entirely chemical-free, making it a safe bet for everyone.

However, while the product might claim to reduce hangovers, if the reviews on Amazon are anything to go by, using a wine wand really is a bet, as people's experiences have been mixed.
One unhappy customer wrote: "As someone with histamine problems (mast cell) this didn't work at all. I was so excited to try it that I was prepared to pay £20 at the idea of being able to have wine again. Doesn't work, money down the drain with the wine."

A second similarly wrote: "Really didn't make any difference at all for me. Very disappointed given the price. Hopefully it will be effective for someone else who purchases it."

Thankfully, not everyone who purchased the wine wand had such a poor experience, and for some people, it did exactly what it promised to!
A happy customer wrote: "This product works! No headache/migraine after drinking wine! I can finally enjoy a glass of wine with a meal. Only drawback is the price; too expensive to use often and one wine wand only gets rid of 'nasties' from 60 fluid oz of wine which isn't that much! But definitely worth it for special occasions"

A second added: "Did exactly what it said on the box and I used because I have an intolerance to sulphite and lactose and I didn't have any reaction, so far so good. The wine tasted better after use."

All of which begs the question, will you be trying the wind wand this summer?
On Amazon, it will set you back £11.99 ($16) for three wine wands, which is a modest investment to make for a potentially high reward.
