You can now stay overnight at Buffalo Bill's house from the Oscar-winning movie Silence of the Lambs. The three-story home, which featured in the 1991 psychological horror film, sold for $290,000 on January 29, according to the listing.
And its new owner, Chris Rowan, is giving fans of the iconic movie a chance to stay at the property - if they dare.
Although fans may remember the movie being set in Illinois, the property is actually located in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania - about an hour away from Pittsburgh.
Check out this tour of the property:While fans tend to associate Silence of the Lambs with Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), the movie's most sinister encounters center around the serial killer, Jame Gumb also known by his nickname Buffalo Bill (Ted Levine).
This is what the owner has to say about the property on its official website:
"Stay overnight at Buffalo Bill’s House of horrors from the Academy Award winning film The Silence of the Lambs. The historic property is set on two acres of lush landscape located in Perryopolis, Pennsylvania, (Fayette County) about 30 miles outside of Pittsburgh.
"This unique property was featured extensively throughout the climactic finale of The Silence of the Lambs starring the Academy Award winning Best Actress, Jodie Foster (playing FBI Agent Clarice Starling), and featuring the deeply disturbing portrayal of serial killer Buffalo Bill played by veteran actor Ted Levine.
"The home still features many attributes that have remained unchanged since filming took place 30 years ago!"
The website states that the home offers boutique-style overnight accommodations and can be used as a filming location or a venue for events such as weddings.
According to the property's owner, Rowan, future plans for the iconic home include guided tours that will give an in-depth background about its rich history.
Rowan, an art director and prop stylist for films, has also shared his plans for refurbishment in the home. In fact, he hopes to reinstate Buffalo Bill’s well and workshop sets.
He also wants to recreate parts of the movie that did not happen in the home but were iconic moments nonetheless.
