A young mother has tragically died 19 months after being given just three weeks to live when she was diagnosed with cancer minutes after giving birth.

Karyn Love from Brisbane, Australia, sadly lost her life at the age of 39 following a battle with cancer, which was discovered while she was in hospital having a baby.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Love was rushed to the hospital in May 2021 to give birth to her daughter Billi via an emergency cesarean at 29 weeks.

The then-37-year-old was experiencing excruciating back pain that she linked to her pregnancy, however within an hour after giving birth she was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.

Tragically, Love was informed that the disease had already spread to her bones, liver, and eyes, and she was given just three weeks to live.

However, Love defied the odds and lived for 19 months after her diagnosis before sadly passing away this week. Her death was announced on her Instagram page in a touching post.

The post read: "Karyn Louise Love. 1983 - 2022. Smile for me, I am free. Thank you for all your love and kindness throughout my journey, I will remember you."

A follow-up post invited mourners to celebrate her life in Queensland, and all that attend have been instructed to wear white in her memory.

Last year a GoFundMe page was set up by natural medicine practitioner Camilla Chaplin in order to support Love in her battle against the disease, raising over $200,000 AUD ($137,200 USD).

The page outlines how Love and her daughter defied the odds against them after giving birth two months prematurely.

A post to the fundraising page read: "Her prognosis was poor and the doctors told her she would not leave hospital. But being Karyn she defied the odds and with courage and determination she left hospital less than two weeks later.

"She sat for endless hours in NICU giving Billi healing skin-on-skin time. She couldn't wait to bring her home and mother her the way she had always dreamed."

Love got to take her daughter home and posted a touching statement to her Instagram page on Billi's first birthday. It read: "What an honor it is to celebrate my daughter's Birthday and a year of life. Love has been my secret weapon of choice."

Our thoughts go out to Love's friends and family.
