When you're in a loving, fulfilling and supportive relationship, perhaps it's only a matter of time before you take the plunge and spend the holidays with the family of your significant other. Sure, you've probably got your own racist uncles and grandmothers full of gossip to barely tolerate back home, but unless you can experience someone else's, what's the point of even
being
in a relationship?

Of course, depending on the respective families, it isn't
all
bad, and this year of course,
got to spend her Christmas with her fiancé
. Hanging out with the Queen, Prince Phillip et al. turned out to be a storming success; so much so, Prince Harry declared she'd done an "amazing job", saying: "it's the family I suppose that she's never had."
Aww, how sweet! That is, however, until you realise that Meghan Markle already
has
a family, and one family member has hit back at the Prince's well-meaning, but ultimately kind of insensitive, comments made on the BBC Radio 4 Today programme. Samantha Grant is Meghan Markle's half-sister, and on Twitter, she responded rather angrily to Prince Harry's comments, via Richard Palmer, the Royal Reporter.

"Actually she has a large family who were always there with her and for her," the 52-year-old former actress and model declared, before going on to clarify that although Meghan's dad Tom divorced Grant's mother when Grant was just six years old, the 36-year-old Suits actress was able to enjoy Christmases and other holidays in two homes instead of one.
"Meg’s family (our family) is complete with sister, brother, aunts, uncles, cousins, and the glue of our family, our amazing completely self-sacrificing father. She always had this family… marrying merely extends it."

This sentiment was echoed by Meghan Markles's parents Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland, who have described their daughter's relationship with Prince Harry as a "source of great joy". Shortly after the engagement was announced in late November, they declared their delight at the development, paying tribute to the "kind and loving person" they had helped raise.
"
We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry. Our daughter has always..."

When you get married, not only are you marrying your significant other, but you're also kind of marrying their family members too.
For Meghan Markle, being part of the Royal Family is surely a far cry from the Los Angeles lifestyle she's used to, but with her half-sister's angry comments, it looks as if she's got plenty of support; not only on Prince Harry's side, but with her half-sister and the rest of her immediate family.
After all, is there such a thing as having
too many
people to love and support you?
