From romantic notes passed across the lunch room to whispering with your friends about whether to go to first base or not, to be thirteen and in love is a beautiful thing. We can all remember those nervous butterflies we felt when turning up to a Saturday-afternoon cinema date and how excited - if disgusted - we were about our first kisses.
Alas, we all have to be brought back down to earth at some point. However, usually when someone bursts your teenage-dream shaped balloon with a sarcastic comment, it's your mom or dad - not the queen of pop. And not in full view of millions of people. But then again, Millie Bobbie Brown, star of Stranger Things, doesn't exactly have the life of most 13-year-olds.

The actress officially confirmed her romance with YouTuber Jacob Sartorius on Valentine's Day this year, following months of selfies and speculation in the press. Since then, it's fair to say that Millie has refrained from sharing too much of her and Jacob's life together, posting only the occasional snap of the two here and there.
Yet, if her latest Instagram post is anything to go by the young love-birds appear to be very much still going strong. On Saturday, she shared an image of her and Jacob stood kissing on a lifeguard's perch in front of the sea, captioning it: "moonlight w him". Before long, the post - which Jacob also shared on his own page - had racked up well over three million likes.

For the most part, her fans were very happy for her, with many commenting on how adorable the two were and others reminiscing on their own first romances: "Oh my gosh this is so cute!" said one fan. Even those that weren't so sure about the pairing could see the beauty in it: "Idk how i feel about it buttt as long as she's happy ?" said one.
However, not everybody was so sure about the snap. Leading the way, was pop songstress Ariana Grande who showed some sass, with the 24-year-old commenting underneath: "I wasn't even allowed to leave my house til I was 20." The remark left other fans in stitches, with one saying: "lmfao this is the best thing I’ve seen in so long" and many others agreeing with her.
Ariana wasn't the only famous face to have her say though, with Hailey Baldwin admitting that she was totally on board, commenting: "Ugh y'all are CUTE!" and Kendall Jenner also showing the photo some love.
Fortunately for Millie though, Ariana's probably just winding her up, as the two are known to be firm friends. Millie even revealed that Ariana had texted her some special words of support about her outfit ahead of the Golden Globes back in January, with the singer describing the youngster as "so fly" and saying that she looked "gorgeous" and "stunning".
At the end of the day, it's just nice to see a little bit of happiness in the world. After all, who doesn't love a good romance, eh? If they make each other happy, then good on them!

Ariana Grande's comment on one of Millie Bobby Brown's old Instagram posts has resurfaced after the actress seemingly announced her engagement to Jake Bongiovi.
On April 11, the 19-year-old Stranger Things star took to her social media to share a black and white photograph of her wearing what appears to be a diamond ring on her left hand.
The loved-up picture of the announcement showed Brown beaming from ear to ear while in the arms of her 20-year-old beau - who is the son of rock singer Bon Jovi.
The teenage star included lyrics from Taylor Swift's 2019 'Lover' single in the post's caption, writing: "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all."
Check out Brown's post below:Bongiovi also shared an announcement post to his own page, simply writing "forever" alongside two pictures of him with his new fiancée.
As of this writing, the Enola Homles' post amassed over 10 million likes on the social media platform, with many users delighted with the happy news.
However, several others were taken aback by the apparent engagement and were concerned that the actress is "too young" to be engaged at 19.
Now, fans have found an eyebrow-raising comment Grande left on Brown's 2018 Instagram post from when she was dating musician Jacob Sartorius at 14 years old. In the now-deleted picture, the pair were kissing atop a lifeguard watchtower on the beach.
Many of Brown's famous followers flooded the comments at the time, but it was the 29-year-old singer's comment which has come back into the spotlight amid recent events.
"I wasn't even allowed to leave my house til I was 20," she wrote.
Many users have shared their reactions to the resurfaced post, with one person writing: "Ariana was so real for that lmfaoooo. congrats to Millie tho, wishing her nothing but happiness."
Another said: "I wasn't even allowed to have [a] relationship till I graduate college and yes I and still ask permission to go out esp if it's outside the city. Ariana was too real for this hahaha. Wishing Millie nothing but happiness!"
A third user quipped: "Me [at] 21 asking my mom for permission to go out or hang out with my friends."
Meanwhile, a fourth person shared: "People have different timelines. Miley got engaged at 19 too."
The Damsel actress has been in a relationship with Bongiovi for two and a half years now. The couple met on Instagram and were friends before it soon blossomed into a romance, with Brown revealing on the Web's Most Searched Questions: "We met on Instagram. And we were friends for a bit, and then, what can I say?"
She soon introduced the Sweethearts actor to her 63.1M followers on November 1 2021 by sharing a heartwarming snap of him planting a kiss on her cheek while they were riding the London Eye.
Congratulations again to Brown and Bongiovi!

Guys, I hope you're in the mood to be made to feel inadequate this morning, because Millie Bobby Brown - the 14-year-old star of Stranger Things - has once again proven that she's already doing better in life than most of us could ever hope to.
This weekend, she joined Maroon 5 at a concert in Nashville in order to provide vocals for their song, Girls Like You. The verse is normally performed by hot-headed shoe-thrower, Cardi B, but she was busy at Milan Fashion Week (thankfully on better behaviour than she was at the New York event).
In Cardi's absence, Brown wowed the crowd with her surprising ability to spit bars - and she wasn't half bad at throwing a few shapes, either.
Though there were one or two issues with the teen's microphone at the beginning of the performance, she managed to hold it together and deliver a performance worthy of a seasoned rapper. She posted a clip of the gig on her Insta page afterwards, captioning it, "soooo 2nite was insane!!! i love @maroon5".

Maroon 5 also shared a snapshot of the Stranger Things star in action, saying that Brown was in 'Beast Mode' that evening.
Later on, Brown updated her fans on the experience.
"I’m home now, it was such an amazing night with such incredible people with such good friends and truly family," she said. "It’s such an honour to be on stage with such talented human beings. I was not nervous at all going on stage, in fact I was so comfortable. It was so insane, so fantastic and I had such an amazing time. Also Nashville, you guys are really loud, should I come back there?"
The 14-year-old also referred to Adam Levine, Maroon 5's lead singer, as a "dear friend" in her Instagram post - something that may have ruffled a few feathers given Brown's recent comments on Drake.
While speaking with Access Hollywood last week, the actress opened up about her friendship with the 31-year-old rapper. "I love him. I met him in Australia and he's honestly so fantastic, a great friend, and a great role model," she said. "We just texted each other the other day and he was like 'I miss you so much,' and I was like 'I miss you more.'"
Given their age difference, plus the fact that Drake is already dating an 18-year-old, Brown's statements were a cause for concern amongst many people on social media who feared that the young star is at risk of being groomed by older men in the film/music industry.
However, she later went on to post a defence of her relationship with the older musician, saying that those who saw anything untoward in their friendship were "weird".
"U guys are weird… for real. I’m lucky to have people in the business extend their time to help me further my career and offer their wisdom and guidance. I’m very blessed to have amazing people in my life. U don’t get to choose that for me. It’s nice to have people who understand what I do. Now get back to talking about real problems in this world other than my friendships… jeez."
It's recently become very clear, then, that - though she might still be a kid - Millie Bobby Brown has the mindset and, indeed, the skillset of someone far beyond her years. She can act, she can rap, and you can bet that she'll put anyone in their place if they try to cross her on social media.
