A 14-year-old boy who allegedly shot his girlfriend multiple times in the head following a break-up could spend the next 60 years in jail.

The victim, 14-year-old Jazlene Jones, miraculously survived the shooting and was able to help investigators understand how the incident unfolded.

As reported by Racine County Eye, Jones was walking with her boyfriend Elia Olsen down the railway tracks south of Milwaukee to be able to smoke.

She then informed him that she wished to end the relationship, at which point he made her turn off her phone and toss it aside. Olsen then pulled out a revolver and shot her in the head.

The report continues that Jones begged for her life, but Olsen unloaded another two rounds into her head, which did not prove to be fatal.

The 14-year-old shooter allegedly stood over his victim and stated words to the effect of: "you have to die," before becoming distracted and looking for Jones' phone.

The victim, also 14, took this opportunity and ran to a nearby street where she flagged down a driver who phoned the police.

Jones was taken to a children's hospital where doctors reportedly found three bullet wounds in her head, one of which entered through her left cheekbone and had become lodged dangerously close to her carotid artery.

Per Fox News, investigators surveilled Olsen and saw him go into a friend's house. After apprehending him, they found the handgun in a backpack, as well as bloody clothes and shoes at his home.

According to the criminal complaint obtained by multiple sources, the 14-year-old shooter became angered about the break-up and previous posts made by Jones on Snapchat.

Olson was charged on January 10 at Racine County Circuit Court with one felony count of first-degree attempted intentional homicide and one misdemeanor charge of possession of a dangerous weapon by a person under the age of 18 at Racine County Circuit Court.

Being tried as an adult, the 14-year-old could face 60 years behind bars or face a fine of $10,000 if he is convicted of the crimes he allegedly committed.

A GoFundMe page has been created in order to raise funds to help Jones recover, and it states that: " [She will] go through life through one eye and live with bullets in her neck and head."

How Olsen obtained the weapon is unclear, but when guns fall into the hands of minors it can lead to horrific consequences.

On Friday (January 6), a six-year-old boy shot his teacher in the abdomen following an altercation in the classroom, which investigators stated was "not accidental."

We wish Jones all the best in her recovery from the terrifying ordeal.
