Alec Baldwin and his wife have both deleted their Twitter accounts just days after the actor gave his first interview about the fatal on-set shooting of Halyna Hutchins.
On 21 October, while on the set of his new movie Rust, the 63-year-old actor fired a revolver containing a live round. The shot killed 42-year-old cinematographer Hutchins and injured 48-year-old director Joel Souza.
Baldwin maintains that he believed the gun to be unloaded.
In the aftermath of the incident, Baldwin used his verified @alecbaldwin Twitter account to issue statements about the event. However, followers noticed on Sunday night that the account appears to have been deactivated.
Meanwhile, his wife's account (@hilariabaldwin) also appears to have disappeared, and the account of his foundation (@ABFalecbaldwin) has been set to a more restrictive setting, only allowing access to approved followers.

Baldwin gave his first official interview about the incident last Thursday. On the ABC special, Alec Baldwin: Unscripted, he broke down in tears while speaking to Good Morning America host George Stephanopoulos, and claimed he did not pull the trigger.
"I would never point a gun at anyone and pull a trigger at them, never," he said.
However, the actor also stoked controversy by saying that he did not feel responsible for Hutchins' death, saying:
"I feel that someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but I know it’s not me. I mean, honest to God, if I felt that I was responsible, I might have killed myself if I thought I was responsible. And I don’t say that lightly."
Baldwin went on to defend his actions, saying: "I probably handled weapons as much as any other actor in films with an average career, never shooting or being shot by someone. And in that time, I had a protocol. And it never let me down."
He added that he had always trusted prop experts to carry out safety checks for him, explaining: "When that person who was charged with that job handed me the weapon, I trusted them. And I never had a problem, ever."
Though the actor and his wife have left Twitter, they still appear to be active on other social media platforms.
