Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has trolled Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and his supporters this week after he tried to announce his presidential campaign during a glitchy audio chat on Twitter with Elon Musk.

Ocasio-Cortez - often referred to as AOC - chose to hit out at entrepreneur David Sacks, who claimed that the initial audience for DeSantis' Twitter chat apparently broke the internet.

"David Sacks just ludicrously made up that Ron DeSantis' Twitter space was the largest group that "has ever met online." There are 100,000 people in this thing," one person wrote on Twitter.

In response, Ocasio-Cortez tweeted: "We had more people join when I played Among Us."

Insider reported that, at one point, the virtual room planned for DeSantis's chat with Musk had roughly 400,000 people, but the two men ended up having to find another Twitter space following constant glitches.

"We've got so many people here that I think we are kind of melting the servers," Sacks apparently said at one point. Even Musk - who bought the social media platform for a whopping $44 billion in October last year - admitted that the platform was struggling to keep up under the strain.

Netizens on the internet couldn't help but chuckle at Ocasio-Cortez's iconic clapback, with one person writing: "This is the best roast I've seen in a while lmao."

Another person added: "Ok that was pretty funny. Good work [...]."

While Sacks claimed that the stream had gone well, the reality is that there are multiple other platforms that can handle bigger audiences. In fact, one Twitter user compiled a list of celebrities who have held concerts on Fortnite in the past few years with much larger numbers.

"Travis Scott's Astronomical: 12.3 million, Ariana Grande's Rift Tour: 7.8 million, Marshmello's Astronomical: 6.5 million, The End: 3.4 million, The Device: 2.3 million," the tweet said.

Ocasio-Cortez's "roast" is not the first time another politician has trolled DeSantis, with President Joe Biden making several jokes about him during the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in April this year.

During the event, he made several jokes about numerous famous faces, including Rupert Murdoch and Marjorie Taylor Greene. The president also joked about Florida governor Ron DeSantis' battle with Disney by saying: "I had a lot of Ron DeSantis jokes ready but Mickey Mouse beat the hell out of me and got there first."

"Can't be too hard on the guy," he continued to joke. "After his reelection as governor, he was asked if had a mandate. He said, 'Hell no, I'm straight! I'm straight!'"
