The alleged drunk driver who was involved in a crash that killed a bride on her wedding day has complained about the conditions of her prison cell.

On April 28, Samantha 'Sam' Hutchinson and her husband Aric Hutchinson were celebrating their wedding day at Folly Beach in South Carolina.

Shortly after leaving their reception on a golf cart, they were struck by an alleged drunk driver and Sam lost her life at the scene, while her husband was transported to the hospital with severe injuries.

The driver was named as 25-year-old Jamie Lee Komoroski who was arrested and charged with DUI involving death and reckless homicide, per CNN.

Following her arrest, the 25-year-old was booked on suicide watch at Charleston County jail after she reportedly told an officer that she wished to take her own life

According to the New York Post, Sheriff Kristin Graziano offered Komoroski a helping hand while she is behind bars as she is allowed to have in-person family visits, even though Charleston County Jail's policy is online calls only.

The Post and Courier reported that the 25-year-old hasn't thought much of her time in jail, as the standard of living isn't up to her expectations.

The local outlet revealed that Komoroski has complained about the food, not being allowed a TV remote and not having access to an exercise mat so she can do crunches.

A representative told The Post: "Sheriff Graziano meets occasionally with jail residents, so Jamie Komoroski is no exception," while adding that they have "made necessary accommodations" for her to be with her loved ones in a time of "crisis".

Komoroski was allegedly heard complaining to her family, asking "why me?" alongside complaining about the conditions of the jail cell, despite being served food such as hot dogs and meatballs.

Aric has since pressed charges against Komoroski and the bars that allegedly served her on the night of the crash, as his legal team claims that she was served despite being visibly intoxicated.

Danny Dalton, Aric's attorney, stated: "The state grants restaurants and bars a license for the privilege to serve alcohol, and with that privilege comes a responsibility to the community to serve patrons responsibly and to deny service to individuals who are visibly intoxicated.

"There are still many details we don't know about the sequence of events leading up to the tragic crash, but by filing a lawsuit, we can begin the legal discovery process that allows us to get the answers that Samantha's family deserves," he concluded.

Our thoughts continue to be with Aric and Sam's loved ones at this time.
