Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has brutally trolled Tucker Carlson after he was suddenly removed from Fox News.

The shock announcement that Carlson was to step down from the popular prime-time show came on Monday, April 24, and it has been met with a mixed response.

The short statement, as per Business Insider, read: "We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor."

It went on: "Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday, April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 pm starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating Fox News personalities until a new host is named."

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), a Democratic representative who is widely known on social media for her activism, is clearly overjoyed at the news.

It's safe to say that AOC and Carlson haven't really seen eye to eye throughout their careers, with Fox News often being seen as a right-wing broadcaster, and the New York representative being further toward the left.

The politician took to her Instagram stories where she trolled Carlson following the news that he was stepping down from the show, and she didn't hold back.

Check out her savage response to Carlson being ousted from Fox News:

"Tucker Carlson is out at Fox News," AOC began. "[It] couldn't have happened to a better guy. What I will say though, is while I'm very glad that the person who is arguably responsible for driving some of the largest amount of death threats and violent threats, not just to my office but to plenty of people across the country, I also kind of feel like I'm waiting for the cut scene at the end of a Marvel movie."

"After all the credits have rolled and then you see the villain's hand reemerge out to grip over the end of a building or something. But, de-platforming works, and it is important. There you go," AOC concluded joyfully. "Good things can happen."

The Democratic representative appeared in an interview on MSNBC’s Inside with Jen Psaki on Sunday (April 23), where she addressed the issue of allowing those who incite hatred to have a platform.

AOC said: "We have very real issues with what is permissible on air. We saw that with Jan. 6 and we saw that in the lead up to Jan. 6 and how we navigate questions — not just a freedom of speech but also accountability for incitement of violence — this is the line that we have to really explore through law as well."

Addressing Fox and Carlson directly, AOC said: "I believe that when it comes to broadcast television, like Fox News, these are subject to federal law, federal regulation in terms of what’s allowed on air and what isn’t.

"When you look at what Tucker Carlson and some of these other folks on Fox do, it is very, very clearly incitement of violence — very clearly incitement of violence. And that is the line that we have to be willing to contend with."

It's safe to say that AOC is pretty happy with the news that Carlson has left Fox News.
