A four-month-old boy was discovered alive in a tree after a tornado in Tennessee sucked him up from his family's mobile home.

On Saturday (December 9), a catastrophic tornado hit a couple's home in Clarksville, ripping off the roof, and lifting the bassinet with their son Lord inside, as reported by BBC.

The mother of two, 22-year-old Sydney Moore, told WSMV-TV that her boyfriend, the child's father, tried to grab the bassinet but ended up getting picked up by the tornado, too.

"He was just holding on to the bassinet the whole time, and they went into circles, he said, and then they got thrown," Moore said.

As that was happening, Ms Moore clutched her one-year-old son, Princeton, as the walls began to collapse, and the pair ended up getting crushed under the trailer.

"Something in me just told me to run and jump on top of my son. Literally, the moment I jumped on him, the walls collapsed," she recalled, adding, "I was being really crushed. I couldn't breathe."

After the tornado passed, the mother was able to get out of the rubble with Princeton, and then she and her boyfriend began frantically searching for Lord for 10 minutes. They ultimately found him lying in a fallen tree in the pouring rain.

"I thought he was dead," Moore told the outlet. "I was pretty sure he was dead and we weren’t going to find him. But he’s here, and that’s by the grace of God."

Thankfully, the children and Moore only sustained minor cuts and bruises, but the father-of-two suffered a broken arm and shoulder.

The young family lost everything in the devastation. Moore's sister, Caitlyn, set up a GoFundMe page to help them recover.

"Their rental company has graciously put them in a hotel for a month. They did not have insurance on their car, so unfortunately that is a total loss. The tornado took all of the formula, diapers, wipes, clothing, etc," Caitlyn penned.

The sister wrote in the description that her four-month-old nephew "had to have his ear glued from a gash on his ear and had a minor concussion," and added that "he looked like he was placed on the tree gently," as if "an angel guided him safely to that spot".

"If anyone would like to reach out and offer prayers, donations, support, anything you can reach my sister on her Facebook page, SYDNEY MOORE," she continued. "With the funds raised, Sydney and her family would like to purchase a home, as you can imagine this has been extremely traumatizing for everyone involved so they do not feel comfortable living in a trailer again."

As of this writing, $95,380 has been raised, almost reaching the $100,000 target. The family will use the money to purchase a new home, furnishings, vehicle, insurance, and all other essential needs.

"I will die for my kids. That's not even a question. And my boyfriend would do the same thing," Moore shared.
