A daughter has made the wish her of dying mother come true as she brought a real deer to her bedside because her mom loves Bambi.

Lisa McDonald, from Melbourne, took to the Facebook group, The Kindness Pandemic, to share her heartfelt story.

As cited by the Daily Mail, Lisa and her sister had been diligently caring for their ailing mother, who had a lifelong adoration for deer, especially the iconic character Bambi. It was this profound love that inspired them to arrange a real-life encounter with a Bambi-like visitor.

Lisa recounted how she stumbled upon a couple, Simone and Chris, who owned a mobile petting farm. These compassionate individuals agreed to embark on a two-hour journey, bringing along a fawn coincidentally named Bambi.

Describing her mother's deep affection for Bambi, Lisa wrote: "She has Bambi statues everywhere, she is wearing a Bambi T-shirt in her bed and will be cremated in one too. My sister and I, and the rest of the family supporting us, are also wearing Bambi T-shirts... we are calling them our nursing uniforms."

Lisa contacted Simone and Chris through Facebook, arranging for Bambi's visit the following day. However, due to her mother's rapid deterioration, they made the selfless decision to drive the long distance to ensure that the special visit could take place.

"Out of pure love and kindness. I cannot thank them enough for what they have done for my mum and my family," Lisa expressed with gratitude.

Lisa's post quickly garnered immense support, amassing over 17,000 likes and a flood of well-wishes from the online community. One woman wrote: "Brought me to tears. What a special and touching moment. Absolutely beautiful people to drive all that way for your mom to experience something so magical before she passes."

Speaking of Bambi, a new announcement has revealed that the live-action remake of the classic Disney film will be changed so the narrative is suitable for modern audiences.

Lindsey Anderson Beer, a screenwriter working on the new movie, sat down with Collider where she revealed that small changes will be made to Bambi.

Beer began: "The thing is, [Bambi] is such a gorgeous film. It's a little bit different tempo than I think modern audiences are used to. Not to spoil the plot, but there's a treatment of the dying mom that I think some kids, some parents these days are more sensitive about than they were in the past."

She went on: "I do think there is a way to update Bambi and our take on it was… did give a little bit more of a scope to it. And I just think that to be able to bring it to life for kids these days in a way that maybe they relate to a little bit more would be of service to the original."

Beer also discussed the idea that Bambi hasn't been watched through the generations as much as other classics such as The Little Mermaid and The Lion King.
