Per the outlet, the Mr. Show star collapsed and was immediately surrounded by crew members who called an ambulance.

A source close to Odenkirk allegedly told TMZ that he is still in hospital receiving treatment.

On social media, a number of other Hollywood stars have since reacted to the news of Odenkirk's unfortunate current condition.

Lord of the Rings actor Elijah Wood wrote: "Oh man, really hope Bob Odenkirk is ok."

Author John Hodgman chimed in: "I love Bob Odenkirk and hope he’s doing as ok as possible."

Finally, Odenkirk's on-screen sibling, actor Michael McKean, tweeted: "Sending huge love to our @mrbobodenkirk. You got this, brother."

Odenkirk spoke about the character of fast-talking defense attorney Jimmy McGill in a recent interview with Esquire, reflecting on his arc in the build-up to the show's finale.

He stated: "Oh, yeah. I think [the writers are] gonna nail it. They’re very confident now.

"One thing that’s been helpful is that the pandemic limitations have given the writers more time to consider their choices, and to take their time writing. We were supposed to begin shooting in September [2020] but there was a sense that we didn’t feel safe enough."

"We have a fairly older cast in this show and this extra couple of months has been well-used by the writers. I’m just thrilled at the confidence that they have," he added.

He added: "If you dig deep down Jimmy McGill is a good guy. But, like Walter White, he does have an ego and his ego is hungry for respect and appreciation in a way that I don’t think the world ever really can satisfy in a person, except in incremental moments."

Better Call Saul season six is currently scheduled to premiere sometime in early 2022.
