Details surrounding the death of a woman who was last seen at a baseball game have been confirmed by authorities after remains were recently discovered.
According to PEOPLE, Leticia Martinez-Cosman was last seen at the Mariners game in Seattle on the evening of March 31 while out on a date with Brett Gitchel.
The 58-year-old had sent a selfie to her family of the pair smiling and having fun at T-Mobile Park, but when she became unresponsive, they immediately became concerned.
Their worries were later confirmed on April 11 after authorities discovered her remains in a woodland area in Renton, Washington, less than two miles away from her home.
Her date, Gitchel, was arrested almost a week later on April 5 in connection with her disappearance.
As per the outlet, the 46-year-old has since been charged with murder, kidnapping, unlawful possession of a firearm, theft, and arson. He is being held on $5 million bail.
The King County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed Martinez-Cosman died from asphyxia due to strangulation. Her death has been ruled a homicide.
After her disapearance, it was alleged that Gitchel also attacked her adult son, Patrick Cosman, who has special needs. He later told the police that he got into a physical altercation with the perpetrator before managing to escape.
According to official documents from the King County Prosecuting Attorney, Gitchel also tried to murder Patrick.
"Brett Gitchel kidnapped her disabled son and attempted to strangle him to unconsciousness," it read. "Two hours after the kidnapping and assault of her son, Leticia's car was found burned from a fire started with accelerants in the passenger seat."
"I think it's starting to hit me right now," Ricardo Martinez, Martinez-Cosman's brother, said to KIRO-TV. "But I'm trying to stay focused and get this resolved and then move on with what she had wanted to do."
"I just want to see the person who did this, to get some justice for my sister and my nephew," he also added during an interview with KCPQ-TV.
Since then, the family has decided to start a campaign on GoFundMe in order to help pay for Patrick's ongoing care.
Taking to the caption, Martinez-Cosman's sister wrote: "Patrick has special needs and needs full-time care. Letty was his caretaker, and his life has been turned upside down. Patrick will have extensive physical and mental health needs in the days and months ahead and we cannot do it alone."

"We appreciate the community's support as we attempt to help Patrick navigate the tough times ahead," she added.
So far the family have managed to raise $33,975 of their $50,000 goal.
In an update posted to the page, they stated that they were "moved" by all the support.
"Thank you for being there during this time of need. We will make sure that Patrick receives all of your messages of support," they added.
