Jake Flint has died unexpectedly in his sleep just hours after his wedding, according to reports.

As per CBS News, the news was first announced by the country singer's manager and his wife who both took to Facebook to notify their followers of the heartbreaking update.

On Monday, Brenda Cline of Route 66 Entertainment and Production said she was struggling to post about Flint's death due to her immense grief.

"With a broken heart and in deep grief I must announce that Jake Flint has tragically passed away," she wrote in a lengthy post dedicated to 37-year-old Flint.

"I’ve tried several times today to make a post, but you can’t comment on what you can’t process," continued the singer's manager. "The photo below is when Jake and I excitedly signed our artist management contract. That was the beginning of a wonderful friendship and partnership."

She then went on to talk about her love for Flint and how she thought of him as more than just another client.

"Jake was... more than that to me, I loved him much like a son. The funniest, most hilarious, hardest working, dedicated artist I have ever worked with in my career.

"We need prayers - it’s all so surreal. Please please pray for his new wife Brenda, Jake’s precious mother, his sister and the rest of his family and friends. This is going to be incredibly difficult for so many. We love you Jake and in our hearts forever," she concluded.

Flint's wife, Brenda, also posted an update on Facebook, saying: "We should be going through wedding photos but instead I have to pick out clothes to bury my husband in.

"People aren't meant to feel this much pain. My heart is gone and I just really need him to come back. I can't take much more. I need him here."

The pair got engaged earlier this year and had walked down the aisle just hours before Flint's tragic death.

The country singer grew up in Oklahoma and was best known in the area for his hits 'What's Your Name?', 'Hurry Up and Wait', and 'Cowtown'.

According to his official Instagram account, he had also just released a new, self-titled album which is available to listen to on all digital platforms.

For those who were close to the star, including his fans, this is a devastating loss.

Rest in peace.
