A father FaceTimed his four-year-old daughter to wish her goodnight just moments before he heartbreakingly died while clearing debris from tornado damage.
Jesse Maxwell, 32, had been given the task of clearing fallen trees from power lines in order to restore power to houses in Jasper County, as reported by the Daily Mail.
As per Fox News, several tornadoes hit Georgia last week and extremely high winds caused vast amounts of damage which included all planes being grounded at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the US's busiest airport.
Maxwell was 60 miles outside of Atlanta and became one of three to die on Friday (January 13) due to the tornado after he had wished his daughter goodnight.
Moments after the call took place, Maxwell's widow, Hope, posted: "River [their daughter] isn’t use to not having her daddy home for bed time. She did get to FaceTime him for a few seconds and of course she has to sleep in one of his shirts for bed tonight so they can match.
"Thank you for working so hard babe and for being so selfless. We love you! Also a huge thank you and continued prayers for all of the other first responders that are out there working all day and night."
The now heartbreaking post was shared along with an image of the father and his four-year-old on FaceTime together.
Sadly, moments after the call ended, Maxwell was struck by a falling tree branch and he tragically lost his life as a result.
His family took to social media to reveal their heartbreak, with his wife saying: "Baby, you are so so loved and I need you more than you will ever know. But I know you are joking with Jesus. You will forever be my hero and I will love you until my last breath."
She added that crews had helped the family set up a cross in memory of Maxwell that features letters written by the family, as well as photographs of happier times.
The family has set up a GoFundMe page in order to help with funeral costs and other expenses that may arise in the wake of Maxwell's tragic death.
The page states: "He [Maxwell] was working to restore power to his community. He leaves behind his wife Hope, son Lucas 11 years old, and daughters Loryn 7, Maddy 6, and River who is just 4. This family’ is heartbroken and needs all the prayers and support we can give them." [sic]

At the time of writing, the fundraiser page has received $39,000 from 558 donors.
Our thoughts are with Maxwell's family and friends at this heartbreaking time.
