A DJ shared her injuries after she accidentally blasted herself in the face with a confetti cannon during a show.

The incident took place during a live show in Santa Catarina where DJ Flavia Ribeiro, famously known as DJ Flavinha, was performing in January.

In the recorded footage of the incident, Flavinha stood before an excited crowd, completely unaware that the confetti cannon she had in her hands was aimed in the wrong direction.

With anticipation building in the audience, she triggered the cannon, leading to a sudden and forceful confetti explosion directly into her face. Startled and in pain, Flavinha made a quick exit from the stage.

According to the Daily Mail, Flavinha suffered first-degree burns and cuts to her face and neck due to the mishap.

Despite the pain she endured, Flavinha returned to the stage to finish her set. Later, she sought medical treatment at a hospital.

Addressing the incident in a video to her Instagram followers, the artist appeared with bandages on her neck and facial cuts. She stated: "My video is rolling everywhere. There was an accident. I ran behind the sound equipment and kept playing even with a lot of blood dripping, with a lot of pain."

She continued: "I threw my hair forward, and I stayed there. People on my team wanted to take me out, and I didn't want to leave."

However, her efforts to continue the performance lasted only about 20 minutes. Flavinha eventually admitted: "I couldn't take any more pain" and left the stage.

"Now I'm recovering, and it's all right," she assured her followers. "I'm going to leave the video so you can see what happened because a lot of people texted me. Thank you for the affection, people."

Supportive comments from fans flooded her Instagram post. One person wrote: "Get well Fi and get well soon... And from what I saw here in the comments, congratulations on your delivery and professionalism."

Another supporter said: "Get well soon. This happens, and you were a warrior to keep going. The evils that come for good, enjoy the hype of the video because the trend is to grow much more. Success Dj."

According to Globo, the Santa Catarina Fire Department had previously issued cautions regarding the use of the same confetti cannon involved in the incident.

These machines, which do not use gunpowder and are typically gas-powered, are popular at events and festivals and are readily available in stores throughout the country.

However, law authorities have cautioned that the equipment lacks "specific standardization," making it potentially dangerous when not handled correctly, putting people at risk of injury.
