Donald Trump's official mugshot has been released and let's just say, everyone's talking about it.

Now, it's no secret that the former President of the United States has been in trouble with the law regarding alleged illegal activities utilized during the 2020 Presidential Elections and he has now surrendered to authorities in Georgia.

Prior to turning himself in at Rice Street jail facility in Fulton County, the 77-year-old hired a new lead attorney for the Georgia case as per a report by the Associated Press.

The news outlet reported that criminal defense attorney Steve Sadow replaced Drew Findling, who is also a criminal defense attorney and had represented Trump as recently as Monday (August 21) when his bond terms were being negotiated.

However, a source revealed that Findling was cut from the Trump squad by the end of the week and replaced by Sadow, though matters involving the sudden change were kept firmly under wraps.

"The president should never have been indicted. He is innocent of all the charges brought against him," Sadow said in a recent statement. "We look forward to the case being dismissed or, if necessary, an unbiased, open-minded jury finding the president not guilty. Prosecutions intended to advance or serve the ambitions and careers of political opponents of the president have no place in our justice system."

Despite the criminal defense attorney's initially positive outlook, it seems as though he's going to have some work to do if he wants his client to avoid jail time.

It was noted that Trump had previously made it clear that he wanted to avoid having a mugshot taken at all costs in a final attempt to protect his campaign.

But it was to no avail as a history-making mugshot has now been released.

The jail's website listed Trump as a 6ft 3in white male who weighs 215lbs (97kg). It also states that he has blonde or strawberry hair with blue eyes and his inmate number was P01135809.

According to BBC News, he didn't go quietly, as before he headed home he said: "I thought the election was a rigged election, a stolen election.

"And I should have every right to do that. As you know, you have many people that you've been watching over the years do the same thing, whether it's Hillary Clinton or Stacey Abrams, or many others."

The Fulton County prosecution is now the fourth criminal case against Trump since March when he became the first former president in U.S. history to be indicted.

Since then, he’s faced federal charges in Florida and Washington, and this month he was indicted in Atlanta with 18 others — including former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani — who has also turned himself in with a bond set at $150,000.

Despite his legal troubles, AP also reported that the former president still remains in the race to become the official presidential nominee for the upcoming elections next year.

Trump had to pay a $200,000 bail bond to be released from jail.
