Donald Trump has made the claim that he will be arrested next Tuesday while urging his supporters to protest and "take our nation back."

Trump, 76, is a figure that splits opinions, with some believing that his time in office was successful while others were happy to see the back of him after being defeated by Joe Biden.

One thing is for sure - his time in the Oval Office wasn't quiet and the former President often made headlines for his controversial takes.

One incident that created headlines during Trump's presidency was the claim that he allegedly paid former adult star Stormy Daniels over $130,000 in hush money after she claimed to have an affair with the former Apprentice host in 2006, per the New York Post.

This claim has now led to a possible indictment of the 76-year-old, who alleged that he will be arrested next Tuesday as he urged supporters to protest against it.

Posting on his own social media platform, Truth Social, Trump updated his followers.

"ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEY’S OFFICE," Trump wrote, loudly.

He finished: "THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK. PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!"

In a statement to the New York Post on Saturday, a spokesperson for Trump said: "There has been no notification, other than illegal leaks from the Justice Department and the DA’s office, to NBC and other fake news carriers, that the George Soros-funded Radical Left Democrat prosecutor in Manhattan has decided to take his witch hunt to the next level.

"President Trump is rightfully highlighting his innocence and the weaponization of our injustice system."

This comes after Trump claimed that the DA's investigation had been funded by "liberal" billionaire George Soros.

Michael Cohen, Trump's former attorney, was sentenced to three years behind bars in 2018 for being the one to allegedly hand the hush money over to Daniels.

On the possible indictment, and Trump's belief that his arrest is imminent, the now-free Cohen told The Post: "Donald would have no reason to put out the statement unless he has been contacted by the DANY and advised accordingly."

Referring to protesters storming the Capitol on January 6, 2021, Cohen went on: "Donald’s post is eerily similar to his battle cry prior to the January 6th insurrection; including calling for protest.

"By doing so, Donald is hoping to rile his base, witness another violent clash on his behalf and profit from it by soliciting contributions."

Whether there is any truth to Trump's claims is unknown - all eyes will be on what happens on Tuesday.
