Donald Trump has failed to make it on Forbes' list of the top 400 richest people in the United States.
The occasion marks the first time the former US president has failed to do so in 25 years.
Every year since 1982, Forbes has published its 400 Richest Americans list, ranking the wealthiest US citizens based on their net worth. And despite the last 12 months being a struggle for so many people around the world, it would appear as if the good fortune of the nation's wealthiest people went on without a hitch.
Forbes reports that over the last year, the collective fortune of America's 400 wealthiest people increased by a whopping 40%. Putting that percentage into a number - that's an eye-watering $4.5 trillion.
To put that number into perspective, if somebody was to give you a dollar every single second, it would take 31,688 years before you'd even hit $1 trillion. We're talking serious money here.
This year's Forbes 400 list welcomes 44 new names - but one notable name was missing from the list: former POTUS Donald Trump.
Last year, Donald Trump sat at number 339 on 2020's list, with Forbes estimating his net worth at $2.5 billion. And despite the publication stating that Trump is "just as wealthy as he was a year ago", this figure is now $400 million short of the cutoff point in order to make this year's Forbes 400 list.

Forbes also calculates that since the start of the pandemic, the real estate mogul and former host of The Apprentice has lost $600 million. The publication added that although big-city properties have seen their fortune diminish, cryptocurrencies and technology stocks have seen their assets "thrive".
Trump has been a staple of the Forbes 400 list since 1996, debuting at the number 368 spot. And in 2003, the businessman reached his highest spot to date when he was listed as the 71st richest person in the US.
Back to this year's Forbes 400 list now, and the publication states that the minimum net worth required to be featured on the list is a whopping $2.9 billion - which is an increase of $800 million from just 12 months ago.

The top spot is held by former Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, who Forbes estimates to be worth $201 billion. In second place is Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk with an estimated $190.5 billion, and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg sits at number three with an estimated $134.5 billion.
But perhaps the most damning stat to come out of the Forbes 400 list is the number of people on the list who gave away more than 20% of their net worth since over the last 12 months - which has dropped from 10 people to just eight.
