Donald Trump has been blasted for sharing a video on social media that contained a pickup truck featuring an image of a hog-tied President Joe Biden.

Biden and Trump are set to go head-to-head for the Oval Office once again later this year - and just like the previous election campaign, neither candidate is scared to speak their mind about the other.

Now, it's no surprise to anybody that the two men don't exactly see eye to eye, but sometimes they can overstep the mark when it comes to rallying support against the other.

And many people believe Trump may have done so on this occasion.

He sparked outrage on Friday after sharing a video on his social media platform, Truth Social, showing a couple of pro-Trump pick up trucks driving down a road. However, social media users were quick to notice that one of the trucks had an image depicting a hog-tied Biden painted on the tailgate.

The Biden campaign swiftly condemned the video, decrying it for insinuating physical harm toward the sitting Democratic president.

As per AP, Michael Tyler, communications director for the Biden campaign, said: "Trump is regularly inciting political violence and it’s time people take him seriously — just ask the Capitol police officers who were attacked protecting our democracy on January 6."

In response, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung defended the video, stating: “That picture was on the back of a pickup truck that was traveling down the highway.

"Democrats and crazed lunatics have not only called for despicable violence against President Trump and his family, they are actually weaponizing the justice system against him."

And many X users agreed, with one person writing: "WTF??? Trump posted a video that included an image of President Biden tied up on the back of a pickup truck. What the hell is wrong with this guy? This kind of stuff leads to the political violence that he loves. We must destroy the MAGA movement at the ballot box in 2024."

Another added: "If anyone else had a photoshopped image of a President, past or present, tied-up in the back of a pickup truck, we'd have the FBI and the Secret Service at our door in minutes. It's far past time — start holding Trump to the same standard. Now."

The video was shared by the former president on his social media platform, Truth Social, with a caption indicating it was taken in Long Island, New York, during his attendance at the wake of a New York City police officer killed during a traffic stop.

In the video, a passing truck adorned with “Trump 2024” and police support flags prominently displays the image of a bound Biden on its rear.

Trump, eyeing a return to the White House, has painted what he believes to be a grim picture of the nation’s future should Biden secure a second term.

At a recent Ohio rally, he warned of dire consequences, stating: "If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole — that’s going to be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country."

Biden, naturally, disagrees and has stressed that he is the right candidate to take the country forward.
