Donald Trump shares 'sick' tiger attack video, draws criticism
Donald Trump has been slammed for sharing a video of a man being killed by a tiger in the UK to promote himself.
Trump shared the video, and the video was then later shared by the White House Rapid Response account, much to many people’s shock and disgust.
Trump has been accused of having ‘no compassion whatsoever’
Donald Trump is often in trouble for his posts on social media, whether it is one comparing himself to Jesus Christ or comparing the Obamas to monkeys.
However, this time he has involved himself in a case that has shocked the world - not just the UK.
William Chapman, who has been described by police as ‘vulnerable’, recently managed to get into the tiger enclosure at Yorkshire Wildlife Park near to Doncaster, UK.
He was mauled to death by a rare Amur tiger called Altai, with grim details emerging after the fact.
He pointed at the tiger, making a one-finger signal that has since drawn quite a bit of attention, as well as speaking to the tiger.
Worse still, the whole incident unfolded right in front of a number of witnesses at the park, including one woman who unsuccessfully tried to stop him entering the tiger’s domain.
What’s more, the entire incident was captured on video, which the police later asked for members of the public not to share on social media.
Cue Donald Trump sharing the video on his own X and Truth Social pages.
He captioned the video: “Dont [sic] ever mess with nature! President DJT.”
Donald Trump has been slammed for sharing the tragic footage
Obviously, Trump’s decision to share the video hasn’t gone down well in a lot of quarters.
Of course, this is a real video of a ‘vulnerable' man actually dying at the hands of a tiger - you can see why it is a bit insensitive.
One person wrote: "Posting about a man being killed Trump has no compassion whatsoever.”
Another said: "So instead of saying that this is a horrible situation and should have been avoided or prevented, you condone this, even gloat. No one is surprised. Our only hope that your end will be similar.”
A third said: “This is utterly outrageous and just so incredibly low. This is real person who passed away and has a family.”
William Chapman’s family pay tribute to him after his sad death
23-year-old Chapman had suffered from ‘significant mental illness’ over the years, his family said.
However, they added that he was a 'bright, warm and engaging young man whom his family dearly loved - and William loved them back’.
On the videos circulating - including that which was shared by Trump - they said: “The publication and circulation of deeply offensive media content is causing them severe distress at an exceptionally vulnerable time.”
Their statement adds: "The family are utterly devastated by their loss and are struggling to come to terms with what has happened,
"The family are hopeful that the relevant authorities will do their upmost to get to the bottom of why our amazing son did what he did.”
A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police confirmed that the family are receiving specialist care from officers.
A full investigation into the circumstances of Chapman’s death is ongoing.
