Many health systems around the world are struggling to deal with the number of patients requiring treatment for the coronavirus, with the most critical of cases requiring ventilators to treat the pneumonia-like illness.

Now, Elon Musk has said that Tesla will make ventilators in the event of a shortage on Twitter.

However, because there is already a shortage, per CNN, Musk has come under fire for his company not making the ventilators fast enough.

This man describes his symptoms of coronavirus:

Last last night, he got into an argument with a Twitter user who told him to "stop being an idiot" and ensure that his factory was producing the potentially live-saving ventilators as quickly as possible.

In response to this, Musk simply said: "We will make ventilators if there is a shortage."

While, admittedly, this wasn't the clear course of action this Twitter user and no doubt many others were hoping for, any help will make a difference in what is undoubtedly one of the most globally challenging situations in years.

In the video below, Hilary Duff goes in on millennials not taking the coronavirus seriously:

This comes just days after Musk said that the "danger of panic still far exceeds danger of corona" and cited a CDC which stated that if too many medical resources are given to those requiring treatment for the coronavirus, it will be putting other people in danger.

However, as the number of cases of the coronavirus increases by the day, it's clear that the world needs as much help as it can get to treat those who fall seriously ill.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, the first human trials for a potential coronavirus vaccine began as Donald Trump allegedly "offered large sums" to get exclusive access to a vaccine for the US only.
