In a video posted to her Instagram Stories over the weekend, the former Nickelodeon star gave followers a quick update on her freshly dyed locks… then casually dropped a major life update.

“Oh, I’m going on Ozempic. So excited,” Amanda said, flashing a smile to the camera. “I’m 173 [pounds] now, so I hope to get down to like 130, which would be awesome, so I look better in paparazzi pictures.”

She also added that she'll be documenting her experience: “I will post about my Ozempic journey, of course.”

The update comes after a long road that Amanda’s been open about, including stepping away from acting, grappling with addiction, and working through depression. Back in March last year, the Hairspray star shared that she’d gained weight “from being depressed,” and said she was trying to turn things around by working out and making healthier food choices, Parade detailed.

“I weigh 162 lbs. right now and want to get back to 110 lbs.,” she told fans at the time. “I’m doing a lot better now and have learned to do opposite action when I don’t feel like working out or eating clean.”

Now, it seems like she’s bringing a little pharmaceutical backup to the equation.

Ozempic, originally developed for people with type 2 diabetes, has exploded in popularity as a weight-loss aid in recent years, according to the University of California - Davis Health. And Amanda isn’t the first celeb to say she’s trying it out. From Hollywood A-listers to influencers and reality stars, GLP-1 drugs like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro have become the talk of wellness town.

A recent KFF study even revealed that one in eight American adults has tried a GLP-1 medication, a number that's only expected to rise as these drugs become more accessible (and as more stars openly talk about them).

Amanda’s Ozempic era is just beginning, and by the sound of it, she’s not keeping anything private. So buckle up, we might be getting regular updates from the queen of ‘00s teen comedy as she embarks on this next chapter.

And honestly? We're rooting for her.
