Just months before her unexpected death, Anne Heche revealed who she would like to play her in a movie about her life.

On Friday, Heche was declared "legally dead" under California law after succumbing to the injuries she sustained in a horrific car crash. Representatives for the Volcano star revealed that her body was being kept on life support in the hopes that her organs could be matched and donated.

On Monday, a spokesperson for the actor confirmed that Heche was "peacefully taken off life support" after doctors were able to identify donor recipients and remove and transplant "multiple organs".

Now, a heartbreaking interview has resurfaced showing Heche revealing who she would want to star as her if a movie was ever made about her life.

During her appearance on the Behind the Velvet Rope podcast earlier this year, host David Yontef asked Heche: "If they were going to make a movie about your life, and they were going to cast a young Anne Heche - like at the beginning of your career - any actress come to mind?"

Heche immediately responded: "Miley Cyrus or Kristen Bell. I’ve already thought about it. Miley Cyrus or Kristen Bell."

The episode was recorded seven months ago back in January.

Further explaining why she chose Cyrus and Bell, Heche said that she felt both had the talent to "pull off the humor that I have" while also conveying "the journey that I’ve gone through".

Check out a clip from the podcast below:

"The two of them share a personality ability to face the world the way that I would want, that I feel like I have and would want portrayed," she added.

Exploring her choice of Cyrus, Heche added: "The ability for her to be able to pull off ... I’ve seen her in Hannah Montana. To be able to do that, to be able to express that, to be able to be as bold as she’s been — going from Disney into, you know, 'Wrecking Ball'."

Heche detailed her turbulent life in her 2001 memoir, Call Me Crazy.

In her book, she wrote about how her father passed away from HIV/Aids when she was just 13 years old. She also claimed that she had been repeatedly abused by her father when she was a child.

During a promotional interview with ABC's 20/20 promoting her memoir, Heche revealed how the abuse resulted in her escaping into a "fourth dimension" fantasy world, in which, she believed she was from another planet.

"It's a crazy life. I was raised in a crazy family and it took 31 years to get the crazy out of me," she said.

Just three months after her father's death, her brother, Nathan, died after crashing his car into a tree. Despite his death being ruled an accident, Heche thought that Nathan had taken his own life, per The Guardian.

After her family moved to Chicago, Heche was spotted by a talent agent while she was performing in a school play.

In 1987, she would land her breakout role as twins Marley Love and Vicky Hudson in Another World - roles that would earn her a Daytime Emmy Award and two Soap Opera Digest Awards.

Throughout the 90s, Heche captivated audiences with her roles in 1997's Volcano and Donnie Brasco, as well as the 1998 Psycho remake.

During this time, Heche also made headlines when she went public with ex-girlfriend Ellen DeGeneres. Their relationship is considered to be one of the most groundbreaking same-sex relationships in Hollywood history.

Heche went on to marry cameraman Coleman Laffoon in 2001. The pair welcomed a son in 2002, before finalizing their divorce in March 2009. The I Know What You Did Last Summer star then entered a relationship with her Men in Trees co-star James Tupper. The pair also welcomed a son in 2009, before eventually separating in 2018.

On August 5, the car that Heche was driving crashed at speed into a home in the Mar Vista neighborhood of Los Angeles. The collision resulted in a fierce fire breaking out, which took 59 firefighters more than an hour to extinguish.

Heche was transported to the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills (California) Hospital and Medical Center, but sadly died after suffering from burns and a severe anoxic brain injury.

Our thoughts continue to go out to Heche's family, friends, and fans at this time.
