Ariana Grande is a celebrity who we've been watching very closely lately: and not just because of her awesome voice. Yes, the 25-year-old singer-songwriter completely shocked her fans earlier this year after breaking up with American rapper Mac Miller, and then in a big twist deciding to get engaged to SNL comedian Pete Davidson shortly after. What a twist! A lot of people were left scratching their heads at the decision; with some condemning the engagement for disrespecting Miller (whom she'd been dating since 2016) while others were pleased for her and wished her all the best in her upcoming nuptials.

Recently the pop starlet has been attending a lot more press events and conducting more interviews about her work, and has even had the offer of being invited into British talk-show host James Corden's Late Late Show. The episode is yet to air, but it is known that Grande is practising hard for her performance in the "Carpool Karaoke" segment of the show, and that at least some filming of this skit has already been completed.

However, one of the pop star's recent social media posts indicated that she actually ended up injuring herself while filming. In an Instagram story, Ariana gave her followers a thumbs up with a bandaged hand, and apparently she sustained the injury during the Carpool Karaoke production. Many of Grande's fans were left horrorstruck at the idea of her being hurt, especially if it meant that her talk-show appearance would have to be cancelled.

Luckily however, Grandes is expected to make a full recovery very soon, and Ariana herself has joked about the wound in a number of social media posts. She cheerfully captioned another picture of her hurt mitt "Well Mr. Corden, today is off to a wild start," in another Instagram story, while calling herself an "idiot" later on.

She even tweeted Corden himself to thank him for allowing her to appear on the show, writing "I’ve ...... never had more fun ... That was the best day ever @JKCorden thank you so much to you and your incredible crew and band and writers ! sm fun. can't wait for y'all to seeeee what we been up to. [sic]" Corden seemed particularly exhilarated by the prospect of Ariana's cameo, and tweeted: "This has made my day. The #CarpoolKaraoke we just shot might be one of my favourite ever! I can’t wait for you to see it. @ArianaGrande is the real deal. [sic]"

It's good to see Ariana back on Instagram again, after she was forced to take a brief hiatus from social media because of the cruel comments she endured at the hands of some particularly vicious trolls. Ah well, at least we know that she's on the mend and not taking her detractors very seriously. I'm personally looking forward to her appearance on the show. I have a feeling she'll smash it.
