Takeoff - a member of Migos - has been shot dead at 28.
According to a report by TMZ, the Georgia-born rapper - whose real name was Kirshnik Khari Ball - was killed at a bowling alley in Houston around 2:30AM local time.
He and fellow Migos rapper Quavo were playing dice in 810 Billiards [and] Bowling Houston when an altercation broke out and someone began shooting.
Takeoff was reportedly fatally shot either in the head or near to the head and pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people were hit and taken to hospital. Quavo was unharmed.
In footage of the moment obtained by TMZ, Quavo and others can be seen gathered around Takeoff's body and shouting for help.
The young rapper was best known for his work with the rap group Migos, which he formed along with his uncle Quavo and cousin Offset, who is married to Cardi-B.
The Atlanta-based trio first rose to fame in 2013 with their breakout single 'Versace'. In 2016, they had their first number-one single in the US with the hit track 'Bad and Boujee'.
Takeoff and Quavo recently released their first music project as a duo, titled 'Only Built for Infinity Links.'
Since news of Takeoff's untimely death broke, social media has been flooded with tributes to the young hip-hop star.
"We really lost one of the best talents of this generation over a f*** dice game," one fan tweeted, adding: "RIP Takeoff, you made your mark."
"TakeOff was the best rapper of the group, unproblematic [and] very quiet [and introverted," another wrote. "He had a lot of potential with a solo career," the continued, adding: "RIP TAKEOFF".

YouTuber Jake Paul also mourned the artist's death, tweeting: "Senseless killings need to stop. Need to unify. RIP TAKEOFF."
Meanwhile, controversial rapper Kanye West used his (recently reinstated) Twitter account to pay tribute to Takeoff.
"Rest In Peace to the greatest migo take off," he wrote, adding: "My heart is broken."
