The reported rift between Brooklyn Beckham and his famous family appears to be deepening after he allegedly unfollowed his younger brothers Romeo and Cruz on Instagram.

The 26-year-old eldest son of David and Victoria Beckham broke months of silence with a rare family post on Thursday, wishing his sister Harper a happy 14th birthday.

But just hours after the affectionate message, fans noticed a surprising social media shift; Brooklyn was no longer following Romeo, 22, or Cruz, 19. Both brothers quickly unfollowed him in return.

Despite this apparent snub, Brooklyn still follows his parents, former football star David, 50, and fashion designer and ex-Spice Girl Victoria, 51.

Tensions within the Beckham clan have reportedly escalated in recent months, with some speculating that Brooklyn and his wife, actress Nicola Peltz, may have distanced themselves due to trust issues involving Romeo’s now-ex-girlfriend, Kim Turnbull.

According to reports, Brooklyn also allegedly dated Kim during their teenage years, which may have stirred unresolved feelings or concerns, PEOPLE claimed.

However, Cruz Beckham publicly denied those rumors back in April. Responding to a fan comment on Instagram, he insisted: “Brooklyn and Kim never dated.”

Kim, a model and DJ, who began dating Romeo last November before their split last month, also addressed the rumors directly, hoping to clear the air.

“I’ve avoided speaking on this topic to prevent adding fuel to the fire,” she shared in a statement. “However, it’s come to a point where I feel the need to address it so I can move on.

“I have never been romantically involved in ANY capacity at ANY point with the person in question,” she added, referring to Brooklyn.

“Nothing between us has occurred beyond a school friendship at age 16. I’d like to remove myself from the ongoing conversation and set the record straight for the sake of everyone involved.”

Meanwhile, Brooklyn and Nicola, who reside in Los Angeles, have continued to fan speculation of a family feud by missing several major Beckham family events this year.

They were absent from Victoria’s 51st birthday celebration in April and also skipped David’s lavish 50th birthday festivities in May.

In June, Brooklyn appeared to reinforce his loyalty to Nicola with a public show of affection, sharing a video of the couple riding a motorcycle along with a loving caption: “My whole world x I will love you forever x,” he wrote.

“I always choose you baby x you’re the most amazing person I know xx me and you forever baby.”

Whether the family tension is temporary or part of a deeper divide remains unclear, but the Instagram unfollows have certainly added fuel to ongoing rumors of a Beckham family split.
