Many viewers criticized the ceremony, which faced challenges like pouring rain, unconventional performances, and mishaps such as an upside-down flag, leading some to label it the "worst in Olympics history."
Andrew Tate, a prominent critic on X (formerly Twitter), shared a clip from the ceremony, stating: "Satanists control the West and they show you that they worship the devil. It’s not a conspiracy theory. They literally show you. Are you blind?"
Other viewers echoed these sentiments as the standout clip in question showed a singer cradling her own head while performing with the heavy metal band Gojira, set against a backdrop of "blood" red smoke and fire.

There was also a scene that some thought depicted the Last Supper painting by Leonardo da Vinci.
Thomas Jolly, the ceremony's director, refuted claims that the scene represented the Last Supper, stating that his inspiration came from the Feast of Dionysus, the Greek god of wine.
“My wish isn’t to be subversive, nor to mock or to shock,” Jolly explained, as cited by News.com.au. “Most of all, I wanted to send a message of love, a message of inclusion and not at all to divide.”
Despite Jolly's explanation, Trump criticized the scene during an appearance on Fox News’ The Ingraham Angle.
When host Laura Ingraham asked if he had watched any of the Olympics, Trump responded: “I thought that the opening ceremony was a disgrace, actually. I thought it was a disgrace. I mean, they can do certain things. I thought it was terrible.”
Looking ahead to the Los Angeles Olympics in 2028, Trump was asked if he would ensure that Christians would not be insulted.
“We won’t be having a Last Supper portrayed the way they portrayed it the other night,” Trump asserted.
“I just think… Look, I’m for everybody. I’m very open-minded — you understand, you know me better than most people know me — but I thought what they did was a disgrace.”
Donald Trump Jr. has also denounced the Paris Olympic Games opening ceremony, particularly criticizing a segment featuring drag queens posed in a manner reminiscent of da Vinci’s The Last Supper.

"It’s such a shame that an event that used to create so much national pride now creates, at best, indifference," Trump Jr. wrote on X.
While some critics continue to label the ceremony as "satanic," others argue that it was simply portraying historical events, such as the beheading of Marie Antoinette.
Regardless of the differing opinions, it was certainly an opening ceremony that captured the attention!
