Elon Musk has joked about his next potential business venture following his purchase of Twitter.
Per BBC News, the Tesla founder successfully struck a deal with the Twitter board earlier this week and acquired the popular social media platform for an eye-watering $44 billion (£34.5 billion).
The news came less than two weeks after Musk officially made an offer on the company, in which, he told Twitter Chairman Bret Taylor in a letter: "I invested in Twitter as I believe in its potential to be the platform for free speech around the globe, and I believe free speech is a societal imperative for a functioning democracy."
Musk has long been a keen user of Twitter, sharing updates on his other businesses like SpaceX and Tesla. However, on Wednesday he tweeted to his 87.3 million followers that he potentially has his eye on another company: Coca-Cola.
"Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in," Musk tweeted.
Now, the tweet is most likely 50-year-old Musk joking around with his followers - but that didn't stop the tweet from amassing more than 2.6 million 'likes' and over 420,000 retweets.
Per the Daily Mail, the original recipe for the beloved soft drink was devised in 1885 by Atlanta pharmacist John Pemberton. At the time, the beverage contained cocaine in the form of an extract of the coca leaf.
According to Drugabuse.gov, the amount of cocaine in Coca-Cola was gradually reduced over time - before being completely eliminated in 1929.

Musk's tweet eventually led to some humorous responses from other Twitter users, as people had other requests for the billionaire to try and make happen.
Dogecoin creator Shibetoshi Nakamoto tweeted: "can you buy fox I want another season of 'firefly' [sic]".
Another added: "Can you buy YouTube? It’s as bad as Twitter. You should buy ESPN and make it about sports again too. Also, buying me a house would be cool too."
"Then after that, buy youtube to get back the dislike button," added a third.
Where Twitter is concerned though, Musk has out outlined his ambitious plans for the platform.
In an official statement announcing the historic acquisition, Musk said: "Free speech is the bedrock of a functioning democracy, and Twitter is the digital town square where matters vital to the future of humanity are debated."
He continued: "I also want to make Twitter better than ever by enhancing the product with new features, making the algorithms open source to increase trust, defeating the spam bots, and authenticating all humans."
