Jossara Jinaro has sadly passed away at the age of 48.

The heartbreaking news was announced by her husband, Matt Bogado, via a Facebook post on the actor's fan page.

Sharing a picture of the couple and their two children, it was confirmed that Jinaro had passed away on Wednesday following her battle with cancer. Bogado wrote: "With great sorrow, I announce the passing of my wife, Jossara Jinaro on this date, April 27, 2022.

"Jossara bravely fought cancer and came home to be surrounded by family."

Bogado described the late star was "an amazing wife, mother, artist, and friend."

"She had the most beautiful, kind soul and wouldn't take no for an answer," he wrote. "Even in her last moments, she was still fighting. She is now resting in peace and will be remembered forever. Myself, Liam, and Emrys will miss her so deeply, although we know she is in our hearts and guiding us every step of the way.

"A public memorial service will be held in the Bay Area. More details will come soon."

Per Deadline, Jinaro was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and raised in Columbia. She later moved to the US with her family after her diplomat stepfather was held hostage.

At the age of 16, Jinaro moved to Chicago to start her acting career, before being advised by an agent to move to Los Angeles.

Once in LA, she got her big break when she started working with Columbia Tri-Star Television, and was cast as Virginia Bustos in the ¡Viva Vegas! series, in which she starred in 26 episodes.

Jinaro will also be known by fans for her roles as Courtney Messina in Judging Amy and as Andrea Clemente in the hit medical drama, ER. In 2006, she also earned a GLAAD nomination for her role as Rae in the television drama, Passions.

Her most recent roles include starring as Melanie in 2019's I Am The (...), as Dulce in Nancy Hernandez & The Black Widows, and as Marina del Rey in 10 Tricks, which is currently in post-production.

Commenting on Bogado's post, fellow TV actor Jake O'Flaherty said of Jinaro: "May she rest in peace and fly with the Angels. She blessed everyone she came in contact with, and I will forever remember her talent, beauty, kindness, and generosity working with her at the Whitefire Theatre."

Our thoughts are with Jinaro's family, friends, and fans at this time.
