Shocking claims have emerged that Freddie Mercury secretly fathered a daughter with a close friend’s wife.

According to The Guardian, a new biography titled Love, Freddie, revealed that the late Queen frontman had an only child known publicly only as “B,” who was born in 1976 following a brief affair while her mother’s husband was away on business.
Abortion was reportedly not an option for the Roman Catholic mother, and the child was raised by her mother and stepfather. However, Mercury allegedly had a room in their home and remained deeply involved in her life.
“We had a very close and loving relationship from the moment I was born and throughout the final 15 years of his life,” B writes in a letter included in the biography, cited by Metro. “He adored me and was devoted to me. The circumstances of my birth may seem, by most people’s standards, unusual and even outrageous."
"That should come as no surprise. It never detracted from his commitment to love and look after me," she continued, adding that he "cherished [her] like a treasured possession".
Now 48 and a medical professional living in Europe, B claims she is Mercury’s biological daughter and the sole recipient of 17 volumes of his private journals.
She says she always knew who her father was and only chose to reveal her identity now, stating, “After more than three decades of lies, speculation and distortion, it is time to let Freddie speak."
"Those who have been aware of my existence kept his greatest secret out of loyalty to Freddie," she continued. “That I choose to reveal myself in my own midlife is my decision and mine alone. I have not, at any point, been coerced into doing this."
“He entrusted his collection of private notebooks to me, his only child and his next of kin, the written record of his private thoughts, memories, and feelings about everything he had experienced," she added.

Mercury began writing the journals on June 20, 1976, just days after Queen released their hit 'You’re My Best Friend,' after learning of the pregnancy.
The diaries trace his childhood in Zanzibar, the family’s move to London, and personal reflections through to his final entry on July 31, 1991, as his health declined from AIDS-related bronchial pneumonia.
Despite not being named in Mercury’s will, B reportedly became financially secure through a private legal arrangement made by Mercury and her stepfather.
According to biographer Lesley-Ann Jones, who was approached by B three years ago, “My instinct was to doubt everything, but I am absolutely sure she is not a fantasist. No one could have faked all this. Why would she have worked with me for three and a half years, never demanding anything?”
Jones also notes that B never sought fame or fortune from revealing her identity, adding that "both Freddie and her stepfather left her extremely wealthy".

Only the 'We Will Rock You' hitmaker's inner circle, including his Queen bandmates, his parents, sister, and former partner Mary Austin, are believed to have known of B’s existence.
Austin, Mercury’s longtime companion, inherited his London home and raised two children with painter Piers Cameron, one of whom Mercury was godfather to.
Though the late musician, who died in November 1991 at the age of 45, famously had romantic relationships with both men and women, including Austin and later Irish hairdresser Jim Hutton, he kept his alleged fatherhood hidden from public view.
Hutton, who Mercury once referred to as his “husband,” was by his side when he died and had given him the gold wedding band he was cremated in.
Love, Freddie: Freddie Mercury’s Secret Life and Love is set for release on September 5, 2025.
