After weeks of speculation about the star's health, Halsey has confirmed her diagnosis following a recent social media post in which she stated that she's "lucky to be alive."

The singer, also known by her real name Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, took to Instagram with the shocking announcement that she's been battling two major illnesses, but in the midst of uncertainty with her health, she channeled all her energy into a new album.

Earlier this week, the star published a post introducing her latest project, which would mark her fifth studio album titled The End.

Naturally, fans were excited about the collection of new music, but what followed left them all speechless.

In a follow-up post, the 29-year-old added: "Long story short, I’m Lucky to be alive. Short story long, I wrote an album," alongside videos and screenshots of what the past few months consisted of.

The first clip showed the 'Without Me' hitmaker sitting on a sofa while rubbing her legs and talking about leaving her 20s behind and being "re-born" in her 30s.

"I feel like an old lady," she can be heard saying. "I told myself I'm giving myself two more years to be sick and [when I'm] 30, I'm having my... re-birth.

"And I'm not going to be sick and I'm going to look super hot and have lots of energy," she continued before adding: "And I'm just going to get to re-do my 20s in my 30s."

The second clip was a vlog showing Halsey hooked up to a machine with the singer referring to the day as "Day 1 of treatment."

Other screenshots had references to her new album, as well as videos of her with tears streaming down her face, which was difficult for fans to see.

In her third and final post about her health battles, she gave further details, revealing that she had a rare form of cancer as well as Lupus SLE.

"Thank you guys for the unbelievable amount of love for 'The End' and the support you’ve shown me since its release," she started the statement alongside pictures with the project's aesthetic. "I realize everyone is catching up with news I’ve held in for a very long time, and I wasn’t sure how much I wanted to share. You’ve all been so kind so I want to share a bit more.

"In 2022, I was first diagnosed with Lupus SLE and then a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder," she continued. "Both of which are currently being managed or in remission; and both of which I will likely have for the duration of my life. After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors."

Lymphoproliferative disorders, including the one that Halsey has been faced with, are a group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled production of white blood cells called lymphocytes, which can include leukemia and lymphoma.

She then went on to say that after two years, she's "feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to."

"I can’t wait to get back where I belong: With you all... Singing and screaming my heart out," she added.
