The Aquaman and Game of Thrones star shared an Instagram video on July 30, revealing his new clean-shaven look while spotlighting a new collaboration between his sustainable water brand, Mananalu, and Boomerang Water.

In the clip, the 45-year-old is seen dressed in a dark top and baseball cap, laughing mid-shave and declaring: “God damnit, I hate it!”

“This is the kick off,” he said as he trimmed away his facial hair. “I want to, like, tell you guys and inform people that Mananalu, powered by Boomerang, is out there trying to make change.”

He added: “Haven’t shaved in six years and here we are again,” noting that the last time he ditched the beard was back in 2019, when he first launched Mananalu.

Unsurprisingly, many of Momoa's followers were stunned by his new look and flooded the comment section with their reactions.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOO," one person exclaimed, while another shared: "Luckily, still very handsome." A third shared: "I like you better with a beard, you look more mature and serious. But work is work. And if you have to shave for the shoot, that's okay too. Without a beard, you look young and daring."

A fourth penned: "OH WOW!! Now that's gonna take some getting used to. Of course, it's your face and your choice, I'm sure your fans will still love you, beard or not... I know I won't change my feelings, but I have to be honest... I hope you grow it back soon. Makes you look more rugged lol."

In the video, Momoa explained that the partnership introduces a closed-loop system where water is sanitized and bottled on-site in reusable aluminum bottles. This cuts down waste and the carbon footprint from shipping.

“This is the future, and we’re starting in Hawai’i. Let’s get rid of single-use plastic. For our children and for our planet. All my aloha, J," he wrote in the caption.

The actor reflected on how far the mission has come, saying that he was "one of the first to ever release the aluminum bottle" when it launched in 2019.

“Now, six years later, airports are banning single-use plastic, all these positive things are happening," he added.

His girlfriend, actress Adria Arjona, joined thousands of fans in praising the move, dropping heart emojis in the comments.

Momoa’s children, Lola, 18, and Nakoa-Wolf, 16, have also shown support, having appeared with him on the red carpet for his Apple TV+ show Chief of War earlier this month.

The Minecraft star is currently gearing up for his return to the Dune franchise as Duncan Idaho - a character who, though killed in the first film, returns in the book series as a resurrected clone. His son is set to appear in the forthcoming installment as well.

The movie also includes returning cast members like Timothee Chalamet, Zendaya, and Florence Pugh.
