Wrestling legend Hulk Hogan's daughter Brooke Hogan has confirmed she will not inherit anything from her father's estimated $25 million estate — because she asked not to.

Hogan, born Terry Bollea, died last week at the age of 71 after suffering fatal cardiac arrest in Clearwater, Florida. The WWE Hall of Famer is survived by his third wife, Sky Daily, son Nick, and daughter Brooke.

Brooke, who is married to former NHL player Steven Oleksy, shared a heartfelt Instagram statement Tuesday, opening up for the first time about her decision to step away from her father — and his fortune.

The 37-year-old, who shared a complicated relationship with her father in his final years, made the decision in 2023 to formally remove herself from his will, citing deep mistrust of those around him and the emotional toll of their estrangement.

"I Had to Step Away to Protect My Heart"

“During the last two years, I had to step away to protect my heart,” she wrote. “My husband stayed open, quietly reaching out to my dad without me knowing, trying to find a safe way back in for me. After my father passed, I read those messages, some answered, some ignored... but all of them broke my heart.”

Though the pair’s relationship had grown strained, Brooke clarified: “We never had a ‘big fight.’ My father and I never ‘fought.’ It was a series of private phone calls no one will ever hear, know, or understand.”

She described those calls as deeply personal, where Hogan “was confiding in me about issues weighing on his heart, both personal and business. I offered to be a life raft in whatever capacity he needed. I told him he had my support.”

But ultimately, Brooke said that “something shifted,” and the wrestling star began to push her away. “He was telling me these things, being so vulnerable with me and heard my pleas, then suddenly something shifted, and he made a choice to walk the path that clearly tore at his spirit. I felt a disconnect.”

Brooke Asked to Be Removed From the Will in 2023

That disconnect turned into a formal break. According to reports from TMZ and the New York Post, Brooke contacted Hogan’s financial manager in 2023, the same year as their final conversation, and asked to be removed from his will.

Her decision was motivated by fears of being drawn into a posthumous financial conflict and a belief that people close to her father were exploiting him. While she is said to be saddened by his apparent lack of trust, sources emphasized that she had never been motivated by her father's money.

Still Grateful for Life Insurance Payout

Although she will not inherit from the estate, Brooke will reportedly receive a sum from a small life insurance policy taken out by Hogan. That money, she has stated, will go toward college funds for her children.

She and Oleksy welcomed twins — a boy and a girl — in January. Heartbreakingly, Hogan never met his grandchildren, despite her husband's repeated efforts to bridge the family divide.

“Even amid their estrangement,” TMZ reported, “the couple included a sweet nod to Hogan in the name of one of their twins.” Their daughter's name is Molly Gene Oleksy—Gene being the same middle name as her late grandfather.

Last Conversation Came Weeks Before Hogan’s Wedding

Brooke and her father last spoke in September 2023, just weeks before his marriage to Sky Daily. She had not been invited to the ceremony and was no longer present at his medical procedures—despite having been with him for nearly 25 previous surgeries.

She revealed that she and Oleksy had even moved to Florida to be closer to Hogan in his later years. “All of a sudden he didn’t want me at surgeries,” she recalled.

Despite everything, Brooke said: “I know in my heart I did everything I could. He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did. He knows how deeply, how hard and how purely I loved him. I am at peace knowing this.”

Oleksy: “We Are Grieving and Processing Privately”

Brooke’s husband Steven Oleksy, known for his time with NHL teams including the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins, also released a statement.

“We are grieving and processing privately and ask for the respect to do so,” he wrote, sharing a photo of himself with Brooke and Hogan. “If you see or hear something it did not come from us. There are many disturbing AI videos circulating that do not represent our family, feelings, or opinions. Thank you very much for the love, support, and understanding.”

Longstanding Family Rift

The Hogan family feud has long made headlines. Earlier this year, Hogan’s ex-wife Linda accused him of being a “complete liar” and “sex addict,” and declared the family was “in the worst mess” it had ever been in, per the Daily Mail.

Brooke responded by claiming her childhood had been marked by “verbal and mental” abuse, implying that both parents played roles in the dysfunction.

Linda later switched course, defending Hogan and calling her daughter a “narcissist.”

Still, Brooke’s final words on the matter are ones of peace and closure: “Our bond is eternal. That truth brings me comfort and hope, even in your absence.”
