On Sunday (February 2), the 46-year-old rapper and his 29-year-old wife sparked a media frenzy after their brief but unforgettable moment on the red carpet.

West, who was nominated for Best Rap Song, donned his signature look by wearing black jeans and top and pairing it with sunglasses, meanwhile, Censori dramatically dropped her black fur coat and revealed a completely sheer mesh dress with nothing underneath.

Shortly after their appearance, rumors surfaced that the couple had been kicked out of the awards ceremony. However, it was later confirmed that they had left of their own accord.

Now, West appears to have shed light on the reason behind the eyebrow-raising stunt.

The Runaway rapper took to Instagram to share three images, seemingly proving his wife’s Grammys moment overshadowed the actual winners.

One screenshot from Google Trends showed that “Bianca Censori Grammys” was searched more frequently than “Grammy Winners 2025".

Another revealed that Censori’s red carpet stunt generated more searches than “Beyoncé Grammys”, “Kendrick Lamar Grammys”, “Benson Boone”, “Chappell Roan”, and “Doechii” combined.

Ye also posted a video of the 29-year-old stretching in a dark sheer bodysuit with the caption: "The most Googled person on Earth wearing YZY women’s".

The post quickly sparked backlash on the social media platform, with fans accusing him of using his wife for attention.

One person criticized West for viewing Censori as a "marketing prop," while another remarked: "Ayeeee sorry, she’s probably the most googled BUT FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS."

A third user slammed: This just proves you used her for exploitation for your clothing brand. I hope your daughter never has to endure this kind of abuse."

And a fourth added: "Imagine if you did what she did ye, your name would be the most searched…"

Despite the online criticism, an insider close to the 'Flashing Lights' rapper told The Sun on Sunday that West saw the moment as a form of artistic expression.

"People have called this a stunt but to Ye this is his art," they said. "He turned up, made headlines around the world and left. No one told him what to do and even if they had, he wouldn't have listened.

"Ye always planned to do the red carpet and leave - he'd never sit through the Grammys because it's so dull and boring," they added.

Insiders also described Censori as West’s muse, dismissing claims that she was being coerced. "There’s no coercion involved. This is what Ye does, he makes a statement and the whole world talks about it," they claimed.
