Currently, Perry's death is being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department’s robbery-homicide detectives.

Following the news that Perry had tragically passed away, several of the star's neighbors spoke to the LA Times and shared their reactions.

One resident of Bluesail Drive, named only as Peter, revealed that he had only met Perry briefly on one occasion, but described the actor as a "nice guy" and "very pleasant".

Peter added that the news of Perry's death was "shocking", adding that the star had "been redoing this house forever and he seemed fine."

"It’s very sad," he added.

Another neighbor, named only as Leo, revealed that he was home when he saw ambulances arrive at Perry's home. "I was shocked," Leo said. "It was very disturbing and sad after all these years."

"I encountered him once and he was very, very friendly. More so than I thought," Leo continued. "It’s definitely a tragedy, especially at such a young age."

Adding that he was "heartbroken" by the news, Leo described Perry as the funniest character on Friends.
