Millie Bobby Brown is apparently engaged to long-term boyfriend Jake Bongiovi!

The 19-year-old Stranger Things star appeared to confirm the wonderful news on Tuesday (April 11), in a heartwarming post to her 62 million Instagram followers.

Sharing a black and white photo of the pair, Bobby Brown can be seen beaming a smile as 20-year-old Bongiovi wraps his arms around her. And on the actor's ring finger, a stunning diamond ring can be seen.

Bobby Brown then appeared to further confirm their engagement with her caption, writing: "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all".

Now, music fans may recognize those words as the lyrics to Taylor Swift's 2019 track 'Lover' - with the singer penning the song for Joe Alwyn.

However, given the rumors that hit the Internet over the weekend, some fans think Bobby Brown made a bad call when captioning her post.

You see, on April 8, ET first broke the news that Swift and Alwyn had called time on their six-year relationship.

According to the outlet, the split was amicable as opposed to "dramatic" - with the belief being that their six-year romance had simply run its course. This further explained why the Conversations with Friends actor hadn't been spotted at any of Swift's concerts recently.

However, given the upsetting news of Swift and Alwyn's reported breakup, some people found Bobby Brown's use of Taylor's lyrics to announce her own romantic news somewhat unsettling.

"Not Millie using a Taylor Swift lyrics when Taylor literally just broke up with her boyfriend," one person tweeted.

A second added: "Millie Bobby Brown announcing her engagement using lyrics from Lover the week we find out about Joe and Taylor’s break up is cold as f**k."

In fact, this Twitter user went as far as to call the decision "evil", writing: "Millie Bobby Brown using a lover lyric to announce her engagement while Taylor Swift is going through a break up is evil."

Bobby Brown has also been faced with a barrage of comments on her original Instagram post stating that she is "too young" to be getting engaged. Fortunately, many of her fans have also come to her defense, with one person commenting: "A person can marry at any time. It's her choice and it's not yours."

To throw even more fuel on the fire of the Enola Holmes star's engagement rumors, Bongiovi has also taken to Instagram to share two photos of him posing with Bobby Brown, along with the caption: "Forever".

Bongiovi is the son of legendary rocker Jon Bon Jovi and his wife Dorothea.

Last year, Bobby Brown revealed that the pair first started talking on Instagram, and things developed from there.

"We met on Instagram," she told WIRED back in November. "And we were friends for a bit, and then, what can I say?"

Since the 2022 BAFTAs, the pair have been spotted walking hand-in-hand on red carpets, including at the premiere of Bobby Brown's Enola Holmes 2.
