Jon Bon Jovi has reacted to his son Jake's engagement to Millie Bobby Brown and has commented on the pair committing themselves to each other at a young age.

Millie Bobby Brown, 19, announced her engagement to 20-year-old Jake Bongiovi on April 11 after posting a loved-up photo on Instagram featuring an engagement ring.

The Stranger Things star captioned her post: "I've loved you three summers now, honey, I want 'em all," which are lyrics from Taylor Swift's 2019 hit, 'Lover' - which didn't go down too well with some fans.

Some of the reactions online questioned whether the pair were too young to be engaged, but legendary singer Jon Bon Jovi has now weighed in on his son's upcoming marriage.

Bon Jovi (Bongiovi), took part in a radio interview with Andy Cohen where he was asked if he is concerned about his son "rushing" into a commitment.

The legendary rock star replied: "I don't know if age matters, if you find the right partner and you grow together, I think that would be my advice, really, is growing together is wise."

The 61-year-old tied the knot with his wife Dorothea Hurley in 1989, and they share three other children alongside Jake - 29-year-old Stephanie, 28-year-old Jesse, and 19-year-old Romeo.

Three of his four children are engaged, and Bon Jovi said: "I think that all of my kids have found the people that they think they can grow together with and we like them all."

Speaking to WIRED back in November, Bobby Brown revealed that the pair met on Instagram and instantly hit it off - they had dated for three years before getting engaged.

Since rumors first started circulating about the pair being together, they have been hopelessly in love and haven't been afraid to show it in social media posts.

The pair saw in the New Year together as the Enola Holmes actress penned: "Endlessly in love with the year I've had! grateful for my friends, family, donkey (bernard), my doggies, my puppies teeth, and my partner for life. here's to another year with you and the wonderful people and animals around us [...] let's do it again but better!"

Jake took to Instagram in February to wish his partner a happy birthday with a heartfelt message that read: "Another year around the sun together happy 19th to the girl of my dreams. I love you more than words can describe. Everything about you is golden down to the core."

Maybe love does exist, and when it has the seal of approval from Jon Bon Jovi, you know that you're onto a winner.
