A Netflix star has sadly passed away aged 37 after fighting a "serious illness".

The Spanish actor died on Thursday, December 5, just months after he revealed he was battling a “serious illness," per the New York Post.
The news was first reported by Montilla Digital, which confirmed that de la Torre’s funeral took place on Friday, December 6, in his hometown of Montilla, located in Spain’s Córdoba Province.
The ceremony was held at the Parish of San Francisco Solano.
While the exact cause of death has not been disclosed, de la Torre shared in June that he had been diagnosed with a “serious illness.”
At that time, he began treatment and chose to step away from the public eye to focus on his recovery.
De la Torre’s last public appearance on social media was a heartfelt post on June 3, where he shared joyful images from his trip to the Canary Islands.

The actor was attending Desalia, a five-day festival, and appeared to be in good spirits.
“The happiness of arriving in the Canary Islands, seeing your friends, grabbing a mojito, and singing until your voice breaks,” he wrote in the caption. “That’s been Desalia 2024.”
He added his gratitude to the event organizers: “And that’s thanks to the team behind @ronbarcelospain who goes above and beyond every year.”
Following the announcement of his death, tributes from friends, colleagues, and fans began to flood social media.
Spanish singer Pablo Alborán expressed his sorrow on Instagram: “I can’t believe you’re gone so soon. I’m devastated by your departure. I’m sending kisses to all of your family and friends.”
Actress Luisa Martín wrote a heartfelt message: “It breaks my heart to think I’ll never hear your voice again, but I’ll keep talking to you. Love you endlessly, José.”
Actress and singer Lolita Flores reportedly spoke at his memorial, echoing Martín’s sentiments: “It breaks my heart to think I’ll never hear your voice again, but I’ll keep talking to you. Love you endlessly, José,” according to The Mirror.
José de la Torre made a name for himself with his breakout role in Toy Boy, a Spanish thriller that follows the story of a male stripper trying to clear his name after being falsely accused of murder. The series ran for two seasons between 2019 and 2021.

Before his Netflix success, de la Torre made his acting debut in the police drama Serve and Protect as Goyo.
He also appeared in Vis a Vis: El Oasis and Amar es para siempre, both released in 2020.
De la Torre is survived by his parents, Antonio de la Torre Hidalgo and Maria Jose Delgado Espejo, and his sister, Marina.
