Nicolas Cage is facing a lawsuit from his ex-girlfriend for "negligence", as she claims their son left her with life-threatening injuries.
According to court documents submitted Tuesday in the Superior Court of California, Christina Fulton, 57, is suing Cage, 61, for "negligent supervision and negligent undertaking" of their son, per the Los Angeles Times.

Weston Cage, 34, is also facing legal action from his mother, who accuses him of assault, battery, and both negligent and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
Fulton claims that Weston "brutally assaulted" her during a mental health crisis near his home, leaving her with "severe and life-threatening injuries."
Weston was arrested in July 2024 on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon and later released on a $150,000 bond. He has since pleaded not guilty.
Fulton alleges that Cage was aware of their son's history of mental and psychological disorders but failed to take action.
The lawsuit states: "Weston has a long history of mental and psychological disorder and a history of committing violent assault and battery and harming numerous individuals. Nicolas has been aware of Weston's history and nevertheless failed to take action to prevent Weston from committing acts of violence and harming others."
Fulton further claims that Cage enabled their son's "reckless" behavior, including drinking alcohol with him despite knowing his history of substance abuse.

The lawsuit also alleges that Cage repeatedly bailed Weston out of jail, paid his rent, and neglected to ensure he received necessary psychiatric care.
Cage's legal team has strongly denied Fulton's claims. In a statement to PEOPLE on Thursday, his attorney said: "The allegations by Christina Fulton against Nicolas Cage are absurd and frivolous.
"Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man. Mr. Cage does not control Weston's behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston's alleged assault of his mother."
The alleged incident took place on April 28, 2024, in Los Angeles.
Fulton described the events in a statement obtained by PEOPLE: "On April 28th, 2024, around 5:30PM, I received urgent messages from friends of my son, Weston Cage, regarding his deteriorating mental state, urging me to come help.
"When I arrived to offer support and console him, he was already in the midst of a manic rage. Within minutes, I was brutally assaulted and sustained serious injuries."

Fulton also alleged that police officers ignored her pleas for a mental health evaluation for Weston.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) confirmed that Weston was booked for assault with a deadly weapon.
The case was submitted to the district attorney's office in May, leading to two counts of assault being filed against him in June, and an arrest warrant was later issued.
Reports suggest that Cage bailed his son out of jail following the arrest.
A source told The Sun: "The family knew this was going to happen, but needless to say, it is a very big shock."
Weston and Fulton appeared separately in a Los Angeles court last month for the assault trial, which was granted a continuance.
Fulton's attorney, Joseph Farzam, accused Cage of "enabling Weston his whole life," suggesting that this contributed to the alleged assault.

Speaking to the Daily Mail Farzam stated: "The defendant is buying time to try and evade justice, and that's not going to happen. My client is here to make sure justice is done."
Farzam added: "Essentially, as you can understand, my client was brutally assaulted, she was viciously attacked by her own son… Justice will get served, and she will come here as many times as she needs to make sure that gets done."
Fulton's lawsuit seeks unspecified damages, citing "catastrophic physical, emotional, and economic harm" that she claims has impacted her career as an actress and entrepreneur.
She stated that she was working on a Netflix project at the time of the alleged assault but had to put it on hold, jeopardizing her business ventures.
In addition to the ongoing legal battle, Weston and Fulton previously filed a lawsuit in November 2023 against Weston's ex-wife, Hila Arounian.
They accused her of embezzling $100,000 and attempting to prevent Fulton and her family from seeing Weston's twin daughters, Venice and Cypress.
