'Once Upon A Time' and 'Smallville' star Chris Gauthier dies 'suddenly' aged 48

The entertainment world is mourning the loss of actor Chris Gauthier, who tragically passed away at the age of 48.

The sad news was confirmed by his talent agency TriStar Appearances/Event Horizon Talent in a heartfelt statement, expressing the deep sorrow felt by those who knew him best.

"We can confirm that our dear friend and client, Chris Gauthier, passed away on Friday morning, February 23, at the age of 48," the agency's statement read.

"As a beloved Vancouver-based character actor, Chris shared his talents with so many of us both on television and in film. His loss is felt not just by his fans but by those of us who were lucky enough to know him more personally."

The statement added that Gauthier "passed suddenly and unexpectedly following a short illness, before asking for privacy at this time for his loved ones.

Known for his portrayal of William Smee in the beloved series Once Upon a Time, Gauthier captivated audiences with his charismatic performances. His versatility as a character actor was evident in his diverse roles, including Vincent in Syfy's Eureka and Phil in Netflix's A Series of Unfortunate Events.
